With the numbers being thrown around for Parise, I would be surprised to see him back in NJ. They made their decision when they signed Kovalchuk for $100 million.
PA to Colorado. $4 per / 4 years
I thought he would be the main forward not named Parise who would really cash in. Guess not.
I really hope Parise resigns with NJ, I wouldn't want to see him a Wings or Pens Uni
Don't see that happening. Top teams with strong ownership are offering way more than NJ can offer. Parise would have to fire his agent if he wants to sign a discounted contract with NJ. Newport Sports and the nhlpa won't want him turn down those huge contracts from Detroit and Pittsburgh.
It's not like NJ has a better chance at winning going forward than Detroit or Pittsburgh. Parise should sign with Pittsburgh.
The pens have won one cup in the past 20 years. They don't belong with the wings in that statement.
It isn't a matter of cups or success. Free agents just don't come west. They rarely do
Constant success is what I am getting at(the Kings have little of it).. The East can offer that, with term and money. The Pens even without Crosby, have made the top Five a lot the last Five years.

And the really good news is that UFAs usually don't live up to their cap hit and end up causing more cap troubles.
Kings are going to be able to return their entire Stanley Cup winning team.
Now I really do not want a work stoppage. I want to see what sutter can do with this team with a full camp.
29-9-3 since the Carter trade. Kings should win the Pacific and then anything can happen in the playoffs. Will be fun to watch this team over 82 games.
Maybe Quick at the last second asked for a NTC/NMC. That might have given the Front office some pause.
Or maybe Quick was open to taking even a little less money if the Kings had a real shot at Parise.
Pretty sure teams are going to be asked to match highest offer for Parise.
If that was the case with Quick, I think we'd have to make a shrine to him on top of our current fanaticism. (the Parise thing, I mean)
I feel that the asking price will just be too high for Lombardi. Our only shot lies in selling Parise on the fact that our core is signed for a long time and that we will be contenders for years.

Just shooting in the dark, I am bored.
I am with you, No way Lombardi makes Parise the highest paid King.
That would be a slap in the face too Drew/Kopitar. I would gather Lombardi offered Parise 6.5 to 6.8 something along those lines (front loaded). That's less than Kopitar and Drew.
What do we tell King and Nolan? "Sorry, kids, you played great for us, were likely a major catalyst in getting us to the playoffs, oh and Dwight, you probably won us the Phoenix series, but we're going to have to send you both down."
It just doesn't make sense. Not Helen is out to lunch.
