I agree. Could be the best FA signing per dollar this year.

PA to Colorado. $4 per / 4 years
I thought he would be the main forward not named Parise who would really cash in. Guess not.

He did go from $1.25 to $4. Not a bad raise. And he has the security of a 4 year deal.

I mean cash in like Ville Leino did last year.

I really hope Parise resigns with NJ, I wouldn't want to see him a Wings or Pens Uni

The only way a FA like Parise is ever going to be interested in coming out West is;

1. The Kings are offering the most term/money

2. The Elite teams out East are not interested.

That's just How I feel , The East Games are bus rides for a good portion of them.

The Nucks , Sharks well anyone on the West coast has never landed a Big time guy in the Cap era. Unless their brother happened to be on the team.

Don't see that happening. Top teams with strong ownership are offering way more than NJ can offer. Parise would have to fire his agent if he wants to sign a discounted contract with NJ. Newport Sports and the nhlpa won't want him turn down those huge contracts from Detroit and Pittsburgh.

It's not like NJ has a better chance at winning going forward than Detroit or Pittsburgh. Parise should sign with Pittsburgh.

That worked out well for the Ducks right ? How have the Nucks Free agent signings been ? or the Sharks ?

It's one cup, The Kings are not the Wings or Pens now.

You have to win some more. Or move to the East Coast.
The pens have won one cup in the past 20 years. They don't belong with the wings in that statement.

It isn't a matter of cups or success. Free agents just don't come west. They rarely do

Constant success is what I am getting at(the Kings have little of it).. The East can offer that, with term and money. The Pens even without Crosby, have made the top Five a lot the last Five years.

You are right about the West thing.

And the really good news is that UFAs usually don't live up to their cap hit and end up causing more cap troubles.

Kings are going to be able to return their entire Stanley Cup winning team.

Now I really do not want a work stoppage. I want to see what sutter can do with this team with a full camp.

29-9-3 since the Carter trade. Kings should win the Pacific and then anything can happen in the playoffs. Will be fun to watch this team over 82 games.

Had the proposed realignment not been squashed, I'd bet the adage of "West Coast teams can never sign big UFAs" would be minimized.

Helene just tweeted that the Kings aren't the front runners for Parise but we're still in it.

Shocker.... Shocked to hear that Kings are still even considered.

So the kings are at 98%? If Parise signs with LA, just give dean the GM award on the spot.

The one year Penner deal doesn't stop the kings from going after anyone. The summer cap is $77 million.

Just curious why Quick hasn't been made official yet.

Maybe Quick at the last second asked for a NTC/NMC. That might have given the Front office some pause.

Or maybe Quick was open to taking even a little less money if the Kings had a real shot at Parise.

Pretty sure teams are going to be asked to match highest offer for Parise.

Parise-Kopitar-Williams
Brown-Richards-Carter
Gagne-Stoll-Penner
King-Fraser-Lewis

That would be a dream, if that happened may as well give us the cup next year too.

If that was the case with Quick, I think we'd have to make a shrine to him on top of our current fanaticism. (the Parise thing, I mean)

I feel that the asking price will just be too high for Lombardi. Our only shot lies in selling Parise on the fact that our core is signed for a long time and that we will be contenders for years.

Bobby Mac just said Philly is likely one of the teams offering Parise $100M+.

I just don't get it, both Philly and Pittsburgh have the same needs, D. Yet they're are both throwing ridiculous money at Parise.

Just shooting in the dark, I am bored.

I am with you, No way Lombardi makes Parise the highest paid King.

That would be a slap in the face too Drew/Kopitar. I would gather Lombardi offered Parise 6.5 to 6.8 something along those lines (front loaded). That's less than Kopitar and Drew.

What? Parise?

What do we tell King and Nolan? "Sorry, kids, you played great for us, were likely a major catalyst in getting us to the playoffs, oh and Dwight, you probably won us the Phoenix series, but we're going to have to send you both down."

It just doesn't make sense. Not Helen is out to lunch.

Holmgren just can't help himself.

On a side note, there is a report that the Canucks offer of 6.5 per for Garrison isn't enough. Pure insanity

I can't believe Kovi got that. I am agree 100m for Parise is just nuts.

The guy is good, but not that good. I am sorry but you don't pay Wingers 100m, unless their name is OVI.
