I'll be surprised if Parise's cap hit isn't in the 6M range. Maybe 7M range.

His cap hit certainly won't exceed 8M.

I think the Wild would be the only team willing to give Parise an 8m cap hit.

He is a Hometown boy, plus he would be the face of the Franchise.

I don't see the Wings or Pitt offering him that much money.

Shane Doan has hired a new agent to handle negotiations for him. Maybe a return to Phoenix isn't an option anymore?

I think Doan wants to win a Cup before he retires. Doan knows he is not getting any younger.

Just like Willie Mitchell said, "You start to think about your window at 34"

Doan is older right ?

Also Doan has to look at that PHX playoff run, and know they were lucky to get past the second round.

Perfect agent to hire for DL to talk shop with. Baseball analogies would be abound.

If Parise signs for 6, then the star players suddenly become undervalued like in the NBA (but for different reasons)

I just have a hard time seeing Parise getting only around 6 when guys like Jones, Stoll and Wideman are signing for as much as they have.

Parise at 6 would be significantly less than Kopitar got, and Kopitar wasn't an UFA at the time either.

Well his cap hit could be around 6 if he signs 10+ year deal, which wouldn't be out of the question.

I don't think so. Yeah things ended on a happy note but he was BRUTAL for the regular season and I doubt Lombardi is willing to go through the drama that is Dustin Penner again.

Like the rest of you i'd reallly love Parise in LA but if the price goes north of 6.5 I say forget him and just go with our young guys. Remember Toffoli is getting close, maybe one year in Manchester to learn the D side of the game but offensive skill wise he could possibly step in next year.

Last year, Brad Richards was the big name UFA. His cap hit is 6.66M.

The year before that, Kovalchuck was the big UFA. His cap hit is 6.66M.

Are the oilers trying to be the flyers? All offense? I just wonder. They are stacked uptop only. I will be pissed if they go first again next draft.

I hate Shane Doan, but this team would be super ridiculous with him on the wing instead of Penner.

If he signs here, the rest of the league will be saying "Mother of God" like the dude in Super Troopers. Other team's training staffs will have to get a good nights rest prior to Kings games.

That being said, his tears are still delicious.

I am pretty sure EDM will be a top five pick team again next season. That team is just built wrong. How is RNH going to contain the West Centers.....

I know they will shelter him, but at some point your top lines......Have to be your top lines.

Safe bet. Unless they get Suter along with Schultz.

Yes

Cause Suter is dying to sign with a team like EDM... Also I don't buy the Suter hype. Weber/Suter have been partners for Four years now....

They have been out of the First round twice ? PHX schooled that pairing. The Kings have also made that pairing look average.

Suter is not a guy that controls tempo of games. I may crap on Drew a lot , but he is way better than Suter at Defense.

So who was it that thought I was silly for thinking Holmgren was dumb enough to trade away Schenn right after acquiring his brother....

You mean Holmgren? The article also states that Schenn and or Couturier is what Howson is ASKING for, not necessarily what Holmgren is offering.

eeeerr Holmgren my bad. Too many H names

Right, but the fact that Schenn would even be a consideration....the fact that Couturier would even be a consideration.....why does this guy keep gutting their roster?

Just because Columbus asks for it does not mean they will get it. And the report is that is what was asked not that Philly is even close to being willing to give that up. Seems like Columbus is still trying to overreach.

Same that Anaheim wants one of Couturier or Schenn for Bobby Ryan, if Philly was willing to trade either of them Ryan would be a Flyer already.

I think everyone is waiting to see who the first piece to sign is, then they'll start to scamper. I think tomorrow is going to be more active than other years.
