Great deal! Lundqvist-Biron has to be one of the top tandems in the league.

BEAUTIFUL. Thank you, Marty.

Someone buy this guy a Steak Dinner at Virgil's or Luger's.
If Luger's bring cash.

Hagelin- I'd agree that Virgil's is better, but Luger's isn't terrible, although I do like their sauces better than their steaks, which isn't saying a whole lot.

SBOB- cash, and lots of it.

What? Did you actually think Brodeur has the slightest interest of being a back up goalie in this stage of his career?

Meh.

Great locker room guy. But boy did he stink in net from jan on last year. Hopefully he can close that 5 hole up this season...

Didn't he hand over the starting job to Hedberg during the past season?

Good deal. We weren't getting an upgrade via FA.

Biron and his five hole worries me, immensely. There were some games in the latter half of the season where he was just brutal.

Best available option for our backup, now and next year too.

Time to start making sure Missiaen or Talbot is ready to be an NHL back up in 3 years!

Hopefully he steps it up from last season. I dreaded watching any game he was starting for us in the second half.

before this summer, you'd have to include
Thomas-Rask
Luongo-Schneider

but this season, we'll probably end up at the top of that list.

Halak-Elliot (the best last season)
Quick-Bernier
are gonna be right up there again though.

good move. glad he'll be back. despite some poor play later in the season his good play overall was one of the main reasons why Lundqvist has had one of the best seasons of his career. I think he will be capable, especially if we can put more goals on the board along with our defense gaining experience.

Hard to mention those other when they basically have two #1s. For a true 1-2 tandem, there really aren't many better.

Biron knows his role.

Good deal for Marty, he's a great backup for this team and awesome in the room. Huge improvement from Vally and some of the others we've had over the years.

Bernier won't be in LA much longer if the rumors are true

Exactly. Biron knows his role and is fantastic in the locker room. Not many others, if any, I would've wanted as Hank's backup.

Good signing.

You should try it.
4th liners don't have the luxury that most other players have. They are not poor by any normal standards, but they also have the least amount of money to stretch over the rest of their lives of all players in the NHL. The truth is they don't want to have to reinvent themselves to work a real life job, and they also enjoy living comfortably. This reality is most in danger to 4th liners, especially ones who don't capitalize whenever possible.

I'm not mad at Prust, because the truth is I'd be doing the same thing. If I didn't have to go work at a real job and be part of the rat race, why the hell would I want to? This is not to say Prust will be forced into working a real life job the moment his final contact ends, that's not the issue. He just wants to make sure his standard of living is maintained 20, 30+ years from now. Or at the very least reduced as little as possible.

There's nothing wrong with that IMHO.
