That wrister is going to kill someone someday though...
I'd rather he use his shot than do what vanek does on a lot of 2 on 1s and get cute, pull up as the d-man backs off, and try to force a pass across when it's not there

Not related to Grigorenko, but Duncan MacIntyre is looking pretty mature in those highlights.
Looks like him gaming the draft will work out well for he and the Remparts.

Colin Jacobs is fitting in to his new home in Prince George:
Quote:
So far the Cougars have Jacobs centering their top line playing with top prospect, and former number one bantam pick Alex Forsberg (who is also Seattle's Jesse Forsberg's younger brother) which should give him a chance to put up good numbers. They've also utilized him on the point on their number one power play where he's acted as a quarterback. Jacobs likes the role so far.

"Things obviously change in hockey, the lines change from game to game," he said of his role early. "But that's where they have me now and its been a good fit, I am excited to have an opportunity to play with guys like that out there."

Being drafted by Buffalo gives Jacobs a lofty goal to aim for, to get a pro contract. He was in Buffalo's camp last season but was unable to skate due to his injury. This year, because of the NHL lockout he missed out on the opportunity to gain the valuable experience that a young player can gain by attending an NHL training camp.

"Obviously it's disappointing to not get to go and experience the NHL camp but I'm glad to be here," Jacobs says. "I'm wearing the red and white now and in the long run I'm glad that I won't have to miss any games, but hopefully the NHL can get that stuff all figured out."

Armia trying to do a bit too much by himself atm. Overall not playing badly so no need to panic.

Did we ever figure out why he was in such a hurry to become unrestricted? Seems like it's not working out at the moment. I imagine he ends up with Utah, where he likely would've ended up at the exact same level had the Sabres signed him.

Former Sabres picks, Justin Jokinen, Alaska Aces, and Jordon Southorn, Elmira Jackals, were invited to ECHL training camps:

Looks Craig Rivet might be done with the ECHL as he's not listed.

His agent probably just advised him that if he has a shot at making it anywhere, it's in an organization with some of the worst depth in the NHL.

1G, 1A +2 for Logan Nelson tonight from here in Victoria. He was an absolute bull tonight vs Kamloops (one of the best teams in the CHL). Glorious solo effort on the game tying goal. I'll be sure to update you guys on how his season is going. Right now, looking absolutely dominant at times.

Isackson has been penciled in as a second-line forward:
Quote:
In the last two weeks of September, coaches can only be on the ice with their teams for two hours. The first official practice is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. ... Head coach Don Lucia was blowing the whistle at Friday's practice.

Here are Friday's lines at Mariucci:

Maroon/ Condon-Bjugstad-Budish ... Condon is one of the fastest skaters on the team, a breakaway threat. He is bigger than Rau. Condon and Taylor Matson, who has gone, were the Gophers top two penalty killers last season. So he is a valuable player who has probably eared a look on the top line after playing on the third line last season.

Gold/ Kyle Rau-Erik Haula-Christian Isackson ... Haula was the second line center last season and, with a late scoring surge, finished as the team's top scorer. Rau played on the top line. Isackson bounced around. ... Rau and Haula could be magic together. ... Isackson played only 10 games last season as a freshman and was scoreless. He will get some points this season if he is on the line with these two.

And Grigorenko continues to dominate the Q, getting the Remparts on the board early (his second shift). Assist to Logan Shaw.

Erne off to a strong start this game too. Puck seems to be following him around when he's on the ice.

And Grigorenko puts away his 2nd goal of the night (again from Shaw) on a breakaway.

He should get better on faceoffs (1/9 tonight).

31/61 this season. Not good enough.

Not that I know of (at least for free). I've been paying per game to watch Telus' streams. It's ~$7 per game.
