Teams can only have two Europeans at a time but the Remparts have three because of a new rule that allowed them to select Kucherov because Grigorenko was a first round pick in the NHL.
With no NHL, they are technically allowed to have three on their roster but cannot play all three at once.
wow, that's certainly an odd situation...sucks for Grigs

So Grigs essentially won't play at all the rest of the year? That seems extremely odd and unlikely.

He and Kucherov would be put in every other game.

If the lockout ends soon, and this arrangement keeps up...then I hope Grigs comes in for training camp.

Or it can be solved simply by trading Nick Sörensen.
Everyone wins that way: the Remparts have a duo with proven chemistry and Kucherov is older and didn't miss a whole season, some other team gets a fantastic player in Sörensen for almost two seasons, and Grigorenko isn't rushed into the NHL.

This is just talk from Roy so that he doesn't devalue Nick and piss off him and his agent (Claude Lemieux) during his draft year.
It's a difficult situation since the Remparts can't get any players back right now, but something eventually has to give.

If a Q team is over their quota for Euro's, they should be allowed to "loan" players to the AHL. That is BS Grigs can't play when he could be getting experience somewhere.

Grigorenko and Kucherov will play on Thursday.

All three of Sorensen, Grigorenko and Kucherov will rotate.

It's a unique situation because it only happens to Quebec right now and it never happened before, all because of the lock out. It's also a new rule that they could draft a third euro because one of theirs was a NHL first round pick.

Without a lock out, Grigorenko would be with the Sabres or if he was with Quebec, Sorensen would already be traded.

Roy talked to Regier today and he probably told him he didn't want to confirm Grigorenko would be back with Quebec even if the lock out ends.

I thought Grigorenko was staying in Quebec even if the lockout ended.

Seems like a stupid decision if true.
I don't think he would have made the team last month and regardless of gaudy point totals, I don't think he's ready now either.
Just let him finish what he started.

Thursday: Grigorenko and Kucherov
Friday: Grigorenko and Sorensen
Sunday: Sorensen and Kucherov

Unless something happens, Grigorenko will be a healthy scratch on Sunday.

So, Roy is scratching Sorensen (on Thursday)? It does seem like it may benefit all parties if Quebec moves Sorensen.

Yes, that seems to be the case.
I have a feeling something will happen now and that Roy will end up being technically right.

Duclair returning Friday, which is a bit earlier than expected, probably helps things too.

Rouyn-Noranda's coach Andre Tourigny, who's a good friend of Roy, says Regier confirmed Grigorenko will stay in Buffalo for the season when the lock out ends.

It means Grigorenko will be in and out of the lineup until it ends though.

Grigorenko (QMJHL games) and Makarov (WHL games) will feature for Russia in the 2012 Subway Super Series that will take place November 5-15 throughout Canada. [LINK]

The Remparts are getting destroyed 8-2. No points for Grigorenko, but only a -1 in a 8 goal game. Gotta find something positive.

Looks like the rotation has changed and it probably has something to do with their poor showing last night.
Grigorenko will be scratched tonight and Logan Shaw will center the first line.
He was originally supposed to play tonight and sit Sunday.

What is the likelihood of a trade any time soon? Or are there things regulating trades in that league preventing a trade? Or at least making it difficult?
