Sounds like Catenacci is having a great season so far. Gonna be interesting to see how he adjusts next year when he goes pro.

Regier feels that Grigorenko would learn a lot if he were allowed to play in the AHL this year but wouldn't necessarily be the guy(like he is learning to be in Quebec). Regier said, "he's in a good place right now" and that "we like where he is". Regier's plan right now is to have Grigorenko in training camp when the NHL starts the season.

The ultimate HF board post. He had what? one game where he didn't record a point and now he is struggling.

Erne has a 5 point night and ZOMG he is way more NHL ready. He has a lot more to play for at this point, seeing as he hasn't even been drafted yet.

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but Grigs has been flat out dominant for all but 2 or 3 games this season. I don't think it is time to panic. If I'm not mistaken, his FO% has shot through the roof and he is playing an all around solid game.

We'll see.

I saw every single one of his game since training camp in August... Grigs has been dominant for 1-2 games this season, not more and he was dominant while having the puck, not with his all around game. He can do way better and yes, since the beginning of October, Erne has been Quebec's best player hands down and I'm not the only one who thinks that. If you asks the question to Remparts fans, they'll say Duclair and Erne are better. He can get points, that's for sure, but he's still far from being NHL ready.

I have only seen him once this year (in Gatineau) and he was pretty dominate that game. Hard to believe that was pretty much the only one!

It looked too easy for him that game and he won pretty much every 1 on 1 battle that there was along the boards.

Does Grigorenko play on the same line as Erne? Is this a kid we should be looking at for 2013?

No, I believe it's Kucherov and Shaw currently. YES, best player for Quebec to date.

In other news Dan Catenacci with a 4 point night, 2 goals and 2 assists.

He's now in the top 10 in OHL scoring with 22 point in 15 games.

Grigorenko is playing injured. He hurt his back on Wednesday and he's still not 100% but wanted to play anyway.

As I said before, don't be surprised if this kid is the most NHL ready Sabres prospect. I've seen him play enough to see how he does all those little things so well. Cat comes with the full package and can play any role. Speaking to a few fans from Owen Sound last week, I was told he has been the leader on and off the ice of this team and the main reason why Owen Sound is doing so well. He's exciting to watch with speed and skill, but also plays that agressive gritty game. Not to many players with all that skill can play this style.

To those more in the know, how would you rate Logan Nelson and Justin Kea's seasons to date?

Kea ----> 15gms 3g 8a 11pts +2 (27 PIMs)

IIRC Kea was drafted for his size (6'4" 206lbs) and aggressive play but he was going to be a project offensively. Last season he had weak offensive numbers, 65gms 3g 11a 14pts -4 (76 PIMs/ 9 fights). He has almost equaled his offensive production in 15gms this year (not hard I know) while still playing an aggressive game based on his 27 PIMs/ 1 fight.

Is Kea getting more ice time and a more prominent role in Saginaw? I see he has a PP goal and a SH goal. I know his numbers aren't earth shattering but its a nice uptick for a player thats tracking for a bottom 6 spot down the line.

Nelson -> 15gms 3g 12a 15pts +4 (12 PIMs)

Nelson's numbers seem somewhat similar to last season. Although his goals total to date is a bit low. Any word on how he has been playing?

After looking at the score boards it was another good night for Dan Catenacci. 1 goal 1 assist as the Owen Sound Attack beat the Erie Otters 6-1.

Grigorenko with the lone Quebec goal as the Remparts lose to the Rimouski Oceanic 4-1.

Lieuwen powers Greenville to win; stops 31/32:
Quote:
It didn’t take Florida long to take the lead as defenseman Beau Schmitz knocked a two-foot shot past Greenville goalie Nathan Lieuwen 31 seconds into the game.

He was outstanding after that, however, shutting Florida out the rest of the way.

“That is part of hockey,” said Lieuwen. “Sometimes the first one goes in and you’ve got to deal with it. You’ve got to play minute-by-minute. When you start thinking: ‘oh my goodness’ you get in trouble, so I was fortunate tonight.”

A post from the prospects thread from someone who has watched many games from Dan Catenacci. Thought this was extremely impressive summary. Diamond in the rough possibly?

I've watched Daniel Catenacci quite a bit over the last few years to know that he was definately the steal of the 2011 NHL Draft. Some analysts had him going in the first round of the NHL Draft. This kid was the first overall pick in the 2009 OHL Draft for good reasons. He was also the fastest skater at the 2011 CHL Prospect game. I know he takes it serious about becoming a pro and trains during the summer with Gary Roberts. I will say it over and over that Cat is the most NHL ready Sabres prospect at the moment. At 5'10 191 Lbs Size is not an issue when his core strength is as strong as his. He skates with that low centre of gravity that makes it tough for opponents to knock him off the puck. Strong, super skilled, lightning fast, fearless, gritty and leader are the words that come to mind when I think of this kid. He will become a top six forward at the NHL level without a doubt. His GM in Owen Sound said in an interview that there isn't a better, more complete player in the OHL than Daniel Catenacci at the moment. He's been one of the main reasons the Attack is first overall in the the OHL standings and doing so well. Cat's always been one of my favourits, Buffalo's got a gem. 1G and 2A tonight.

Keep in mind that it's posted by Catenacci's booster on these boards.

Sounds like a parent trying to promote their no name kid in a youth prospects thread.

Why? How many of Assat's games have you watched this season? What's wrong with 8 goals in 19 games--18 when you consider he was injured early in one of them--for a 20 year old playing in a professional league vs men. (Not to mention a number of locked-out NHLers.)

Perhaps you'd prefer him being a man amongst boys in the QMJHL, dominating kids two and three years younger than him? But he's doing just fine in a men's league.

he is still pretty inconsistent, has stretches where he dominates then will disappear.

Professional opponents and coaches have a tendency to make things more difficult. I get the definite sense around here that people would rather see Armia dominating kids in the CHL because his counting numbers would be through the roof. Eight goals in 19 games is good.

Is Teravainen a bust? Pulkkinen? Both are are very good prospects, and have worse numbers than Armia. I think people need to remember that he's playing in a league on par with the AHL, and making an impact.

I never said I had a problem with his stats, I never said I would rather him be in CHL, I never said Teravainen, Armia, or Pulkkinen(not sure how a 4th rounder could be a bust anyways) were busts.

I like Armia and think he will be a solid NHL.
