Correct. The CHL site updates their stats right away. Still his 2 ppg pace at the moment is fantastic.

Awesome...

With Catenacci also playing so well and Girgensons coming on (albeit at wing), it's hard not to be excited about the center depth coming up right now.

Interesting notes on Cat's line-mates before his arrival to Owen Sound:

Halmo's best point totals were 20 goals and 23 assists for 43 points. After Cat's arrival, Halmo's numbers practically doubled with 40 goals and 45 assists for 85 points.

Cameron Brace's best point totals were 11 goals and 6 assists for 17points. After Cat's arrival Brace's numbers more than trippled posting 29 goals and 27 assists for 56points.

I think Catenacci is playing tonight in the super series. It doesn't look like NHL network is carrying the game live though.

Your correct on both. Catenacci is playing for the OHL tonight vs Russia. The game won't be televised LIVE as NHL Network is televising the Hall Of Fame ceremonies - 7:30 pm ET-9:00 pm ET. The OHL-Russia game which starts at 7:00 pm ET will be televised on a 2 hour tape delay with a start time of 9:00 pm ET.

In Canada the game will be televised LIVE on Sportsnet in all areas. The Hall Of Fame Ceremonies will be on TSN2 - at 7:30 pm ET.

I only watched the first periods of the SSS last night, but really liked what I saw out of Cat. He was one of the best forwards for the OHL, really a smart player with good hands and a very good skater. If he gets stronger, he could be an excellent 2-way forward. Very high ceiling IMO, not Grigs high obviously, but absolutely could develop into a top 6 role. Really hope he can make the WJC squad. He looked much better than Strome, IMO, and definitely more well rounded.

Incredible skater, he is just an incredible skater. I liked his defensive game, he was always coming back to disrupt plays in the neutral zone and defensive zone. I didn't like his offensive game too much but he wasn't bad. It just seemed like he couldn't get anything going. I can see how his size will be a factor if he ever makes the NHL, but for a 19 year old, he looks like a very mature prospect.

Here's a quick scrap from Kea on Sunday. He stuck up for his teammate and got the instigator while Alcock was penalized for a check to the head.

Greenvile-ECHL had a string of seven games in nine nights this month with Lieuwen starting five and appearing in six. His numbers this month have shown a major improvement and are: 319:37 TOI, 174 SOG, 13 GA, 161 SVS, 4-1-0-0, 2.44 GAA, 0.925 SV%

Some quotes on Lieuwen from Greenville's hockey beat:
Quote:
“The kid (Lieuwen) was outstanding tonight,” Greenville assistant coach Dwayne Zinger said. “The defense, too. Just buying in, sacrificing, blocking shots. The penalty kill was outstanding for us.”
Quote:
The Road Warriors were short-handed for eight minutes in the second period, including a double minor, but goalie Nathan Lieuwen led a staunch defensive effort. The period ended with Greenville ahead 2-1.

“Those four guys up front in the penalty kill, all six defensemen back there and our number one guy Nathan Lieuwen – fantastic penalty killing tonight,” Greenvile coach Dean Stork said. “Special teams stepped up.”
Post-game interview following his first win of the month:

Yea, we'll see if he can translate his game to the NHL and be an effective player for the Sabres. Not going to get too high on a rookie until he proves himself at that level. But I do agree, so far at this level, he's looked good.

Makarov played 60:00 TOI with 35 SVS on 35 SOG in Russia's 1-0 shootout loss to Team WHL. He stopped Holmberg's opening attempt, but then allowed goals to Shinkaruk (shot high glove; his "book" said to shoot there), McNeill (shot low stick) and S.Reinhart (deke), while Yakupov and Co. failed to put an attempt past Brossoit.

No score in period one of Game 5 of the Super Series. Russian goalie Andrey Makarov was very busy and was a wall in net.

Impressed with Makarov's ability to battle down low. Loose pucks covered up, digs in, fights through traffic. Seals ice nicely in tight.

Makarov holds his gloves low, especially when crouching. Watch for it in the shootout. Excellent showings for he and Brossoit. What a treat!

No. 2 Star - Andrey Makarov, Team Russia (Saskatoon Blades)

Another WHL goaltender who has had a less than stellar start with the Saskatoon Blades, Makarov responded in kind to Brossoit's performance, although it wasn't pretty. The WHL's book on him, keep shots low and to his left pad, evidently, resulted in shots being fired wide as Makarov challenged foes with a particularly aggressive style. He also earned the regulation shutout, stopping 35-of-35.

Makarov's highlights came later in the game, in the third period. His Blade teammate Duncan Siemens set up Raiders forward Mark McNeill with an excellent lead pass but Makarov caught the shot in his chicken wing. On another chance, Mitch Holmberg fed the puck to Brady Brassart right in the slot but the puck stayed still in Makarov's five-hole.
