How many "prolific scorers" go thru slumps? I would hazard a guess and say 90% of them. I'd rather have a 30+ goal scorer that goes thru slumps from time to time, than a 20 goal scorer who steadily gets it throughout the season without slumps.
I just hope he doesn't partake in slump busting
A slump is one thing but Armia had a pretty bad stretch to start last season and IIRC fell off a lot in the second half of the season previous. I'm really just saying I'd like to see him step up after their (first?) loss and play a strong game. Doesn't mean he has to put it in the net but creating chances for the team and playing both ends would be a good response. He's only 19 but this is his third pro year so I'm thinking most expect him to step up his this year. Point totals don't matter much to me.

It was indeed their first loss and this was one of those total crapfest games that the team has had once early in the season the past few seasons after some early good results. The whole team thinks they are so much better than the rest of the league and think they can win without effort. An ugly loss like this hopefully wakes up the team again and Armia with it. Returning* hometown boy Jesse Joensuu from the Islanders might also help Joel somehow having 60 games of NHL-experience.
Lepkowski with 0+0, +2 in Barrie's 6-4 win over Ottawa. He was part of the PK for two of Ottawa's PP goals, but finished strong, as he was on the ice for both the GWG and ENG in the final minute.
And as noted in the post above, Catenacci completed the Gordie Howe hat-trick tonight. His goal and assist both came on the PP in the third period, while his fight came as tempers began to flare with the 5-0 score. Catenacci started the scrum with a penalized cross-check on Emerson Clark. Next, he was on the receiving end of a penalized check from behind. He then was dragged into a fight with Clark, who got the better of him. Catenacci was voted the game's second star, as Owen Sound ultimately defeated Windsor 6-1.

Reason: Misinformation + YT
Watching Grigorenko's game tonight. He's off to a great start on the season. Wasn't tremendous in the 1st period, but created a nice turnover that led to a decent scoring chance. Looked much more dangerous in the 2nd. Has 1G (PP) and 2A (or maybe 1? Having a hard time following the French) so far in a 7-2 thrashing of Chicoutimi through 2 periods. Also looking solid defensively, both 5-on-5 and PK.
ETA: Didn't get as much ice time in the 3rd because the Remparts kept taking one stupid penalty after another, and Roy didn't use Grigs on the PK as much (not at all during the 5-on-3s), but he added another assist to finish the night 1+3 in a 9-4 win.

Andrey Makarov was the Saskatoon goalie in their 2-1 shootout win over Prince Albert last night.
He faced 41 shots/made 40 saves in regulation/overtime. He then made 2 of 3 saves in the shootout.
The two teams face off again tonight in Saskatoon.
I don't believe it has been touched upon in here, but Bakes noted on his Twitter that Ullmark has been loaned out to Mora (Allsvenskan -- aka SWE Tier 2 -- Kopitar was their lockout add) as an injury replacement. He made a relief appearance today, allowing one PP goal in over a period of work (<10 shots) and earned the shootout win (no GA).
Armia finishes his game with just the one goal; a 4-1 win. (Ex-Sabre Mike Ryan picked up an assist in the game)
Lepkowski received a third-man-in game misconduct penalty last night, and here's the clip of that scrum:
Bakes also has the Austin and Kea assists uploaded:
Grigorenko's saucer pass like at 01:18 of the highlights... you'll get to see it a lot. For other players it works 1 time out of 5... Grigorenko does it all the time and the pass always seems to get through 2-3 opponents.
And Grigorenko's goal was more impressive from his angle, which my father and I were watching the game from. We looked at each other and we we like 'how did he find the hole?!'. He had 4 players in front of him blocking the access to net and he made it look like he had an open net!
Prince Albert bounced back from last nights shootout loss and defeated Saskatoon 5-2 tonight.
Andrey Makarov took the loss - allowing 5 goals while making 30 saves on 35 shots.
Saskatoons Record - W-1 - L-1 - OTL-0 - SOL-0 - PTS-2 - 5th Place - East Div. - East Conf.
Next game - Wednesday, Sept 26 - at the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Video highlights of Fridays Saskatoon 2-1 shootout win over Prince Albert -
The Everett Silvertips had the longest wait for their season opener, but Jacobs (2G-3A, +4) and the Prince George Cougars made them look not ready for prime time with a 6-0 road win. The Buffalo Sabres pick, returning to the state where he spent three seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds, scored his first of the night and first as a Cougar on a first-period penalty shot. Then his night just got better, with assists on tallies by linemates Alex Forsberg and Chase Witala to help put away the 'Tips early. The game was over after Jacobs scored in the final minute of Period 2.
Maybe if it is not to difficult you can keep track of the stats for all of our prospects while the NHL is in lockout mode? Maybe designate a post just for it? I would love to keep up with the stats of our prospects as well as when there future games will be. However, making it organized would be difficult if its all in one post. Just an idea.
