Haven't watched many Canuck games but I've liked what I've seen of guy particularly his skating ability.
I figure if the Isles don't resign PA (cough major mistake cough ) should they move Okposo to play with JT and Moulson and trade for Hansen to play on the 2nd line?
Put this guy on a line with Nielsen and Grabner - what would you get ?
more importantly what would Vancouver in return that isn't highway robbery ??
Wierd to say, but he probably wouldn't be as good anywhere else. He's just a hard working muther****er who plays exactly as he's coached, and he's honed his skill as a Vancouver Canuck and as a AV type player.
I don't see us moving him as he is hardly injured and great great defensively, quick skater, doesn't make mistakes, and is an ideal 3rd liner for our team.
O also, he has a great cap hit. Can't see Van moving him, cause who would we put there to replace him?
Not that he's an amazing player that is worth a bounty, but I think any team that wanted him would have to pay too much, not worth doing for the acquiring team. He's just perfect where he is and I'm sure he's happy too.
As an Islanders fan living in Vancouver, I couldn't have put it any better. Only way I could see Hansen moved is if Kassian pushes him down the depth chart, but who knows when that will happen.
Even if Kassian pushes him down the depth chart, I can't see him being available. Hansen is still cheap for a 4th line role (which he can also excel in). He is equally good playing on either wing. You'd need much more than Kassian pushing him down to push out a $1.2mill bottom-6er who plays either wing, is great on the PK and is the prototypical team player doing whatever his coach asks of him... Hell we could be loaded with talent coming up with Kassian, Jensen, Schroeder and Rodin all making the team and outperforming Hansen, but he'd still be worth keeping as a 13th forward.
Can't see him traded. No team will give up what the Canucks would need to move him.
