He'll make the roster with another NHL team. Damn shame too, he was one effective player when he was healthy. Not to mention a great character guy.

That's what I figured. He's a quality NHL player when he can stay healthy, he'll find a job somewhere else.

Good riddance. Armstrong reminds me of Van Ryn. Leafs fans have some strange obsession for a mediocre player that was never healthy. Armstrong was so useless as a Leaf.

I think Armstrong set himself up well for a TSN commentator role or something in the media in his time in Toronto. Not all is lost for him, but his playing career is in shambles.

Too bad.

Good guy.

Wish him well wherever he goes.

D'Amigo could be a possibility next year or this just to be to gear up for a move.

Nobody will claim him. If a team wants him, they will wait until he becomes a UFA and get him at a much cheaper price than 3M.

His confidence is shot.. Just like everyone else who left Toronto lately.. I can see him going to a team like Detroit or Vancouver and playing a decent role in their teams.

The reason was to not bury him in the minors. If he gets put on waivers and no one claims him, the options are to either bury him on the Marlies or buy him out.

Burke is a player's GM so Army gets a chance to play on an NHL team this year instead of playing in the AHL.

Komorov can never hope to be as good as Armstrong. He's much smaller and has 0 years of NHL experience.

Really? People are replacing a 30 year old vet who's played on Crosbys wing, with a 25 year old rookie?

Exactly.

Burke did Armstrong a favor by not waiving him. Nobody would have picked him up and he'd be in the AHL.

The winds of change are blowing in Toronto, this move, and the JvR trade are clearly just the beginning of Burke's summer plan. So far Burke has drafted a high potential D man, traded for a talented winger with sky high potential, and he's started to dissemble LACK, and it's not even July yet.

Maybe unless a lower team wants him that doesn't think they have a chance in signing him, but yeah, in general, I agree with you.

Leafs aren't up to anything other than clearing space and cap room. Toronto wasn't certain Colby could rebound from all his injuries.

No kiddin...Leafs really aren't up to a whole hell of a lot.

I liked Colby, always have, but it just didn't work out because of injuries in Toronto..

Wish him well in the future.

That 30 vet who played on Crosby's wing scored 25 points in a seasons worth of games and really did not play his physical game for us at all. It's not a stretch to say anyone on the Marlies could do what he did for us.

Only way Burke can be redeemed is if Kadri or Ross takes his spot at training camp.

I don't want Prust or any overpaid veteran UFA for that matter.
