Why not Shane Doan

What does everyone think should the Panthers sign Shane Doan?

I'd take him in a heartbeat (so would 29 other teams), but he is very loyal to the Yotes and will only leave for a legitimate shot at the cup.

If he leaves Phoenix (I'd say 50/50 at this point) there will be teams offering more more money/term than us and teams offering a better chance at winning now than us. Just don't see it happening.

Plus we would have to wait until the 9th to be in the running, and then no guarantees. We need to lock up an effective forward before then so we don't get left in the cold.

I personally don't want him but if Tallon thinks he's a fit, then I'll trust his decision.

From what I've heard he wants to stay in the Western Conference.

He'd probably need a longer commitment in years than Tallon (or most of you) would be willing to give him.

I'm really hoping Jovo calls him and tells him to join us.. Would make the Jovo contract a lot more bearable!

I don't see it happening, but I've always been a fan of his. I think he'd be a great example to bring us forward as a team in the future before he retires to mentor all of the young guys coming up in the system.
