Can I pick neither?

Flames, I guess ... Any team that has Kiprusoff and Iginla will win 30+ games ... I doubt Yakupov suddenly makes a 29th place team a playoff team (especially if Smyth walks).

Honestly both teams battle for the last playoff spot or two.

I think Flames come in 8th Oilers in 10th as we have better goaltending and a better defense and coach who likes to let his best players play offensive but if the Oilers get a good defenseman I wouldn't be shocked to see them beat us out for 8th.

As of now, I think the Flames will be the better team. They should be doing their usual battle for the final playoff spot. I don't see Edmonton improving by 16+ points next year. That all said, rosters can still change significantly before opening day.

I think that the Flames wil have a better season. I can see them snitch the 8th spot. They will probably end 8-12. Oilers will end 10-15.

My bold prediction is the Flames will fail miserably and are my wild card for the number one pick. Kipper and Iginla will be gone by the trade deadline.

I think this is the year it falls apart for the Flames and they go lottery. Oilers sneak into 8th and get bounced, then come back strong next year.
