Top 3 centers are all gone since Pegula buy the team

Connolly, Roy and Goose are all gone. Lets see what will happens. I hope we are not done yet because our offense will suffer big time and we had already issues with scoring last year !!!

Do not post rumors from unreputable sources. If the twitter isn't backed by a trusted media source, it probably is not reputable.

If you are unsure, don't post it.

I wonder if Jokinen signing has any impact on Regier's future moves. Was he a backup plan? Did they have a cheap offer out to him?

If the Sabres had gotten him, I would have accepted with reluctance a 2 for 8. That's not too far off. Seems fair.

Looking at Jokinen's lack of playoff appearences through the years (and JayBowwow's too), I'm glad he's not here, even as a stop gap.

I still think they grab a stop gap center and acquire a skilled winger (either through trade or a Semin signing). I'm just not sure who is available now, though. I don't think Dom Moore or Arnott quite fits the bill.

Either that or they surprise us all with an out-of-the-blue trade for a legit center. Stastny or Marleau or Pavelski come to mind.

I'm just sensing two more moves coming. One at center, one at wing, with one of them being a quality top-sixer and the other just to plug a hole.

Vanek+ for Pavelski/Clowe, kill 2 birds with one stone.

Been watching this closely the past two days and following everyone's posts. Have to give credit to Darcy. TPegs bucks have turned us into serious participants in this event. However, I don't think we are a destination for the elite level UFA's yet. Last season's playoff miss after all the FA spending hasn't convinced the big names that a SCF is more likely to happen in Buffalo. However, one good Cup run will change that perception IMO.

The way I see it, today's Roy trade creates the need for an experienced Center. We could go with Ennis, Hodgson and Grigs and try Leino back at C. But I think that would be a disaster. Plus we are deep in defensemen right now. And still have strength at wing.

The UFA game is on hold pending Suter and Parise. Given the delay and the offers made by the home team, plus Nashville and NJ's strong runs this year, I'm betting Suter stays in Nashville and Zach in NJ (esp. after Marty signed his contract.)

Just think of the turmoil that will cause elsewhere and the leverage it will give Semin, Nash, Jagr, etc.. Teams will be scrambling so while Darcy has set things up on his chess board for a Ryan trade to Buffalo, I think that depends to a degree on what Suter and Parise do. Ryan will be in demand elsewhere (like Pittsburg).

However, I definitely think a trade is more likely for Buffalo versus a UFA signing.

Agree with most that Buffalo-Anaheim makes the most sense. But I think it could be bigger than we've been reading about and might surprise everyone. (Getzlaf rather than Ryan? Vanek and Sekara, Hiller for Miller...... just speculating there).

Not sure how much control Regier is going have to be able to execute his plan if he has to contend with Pittsburg, Detroit, Chicago and Minn. It would suck if we get stuck with no experienced center and the new D guy from the Stars. But I have more confidence in Darcy these days than that.

If Philly misses out on Parise, do you think that we could trade them Vanek, Adam, and a 2012 2nd for Couturier/Schenn and Simmonds?

Nope. They're as likely to trade Couturier as we are Myers.
