only one of the three Kings was playing top six, maybe all three will for Cumberland. Gonu was playing for the 4th line with the Kings and went to Kemptville and was putting up a point for game, so who knows maybe they can put some number

Only time will tell. As of right now it is Pembroke, but if King and Currie turn into the players they could be then it will be the grads.

What are the number of returning players for your various teams?

In Summary,

To Cumberland:
Packard (F92) 45pts
Pelock (F93) 24pts
King (F94) 21pts

also Currie (F95) 36pts in Mj Midget

To Pembroke:
Drouin (D94) 41pts
Harper (D93) 20pts

also Conroy (F94) 52pts in Jr B

In trades like this the "rule of thumb" is team that gets the best player wins, in this case I would say Pembroke won getting Drouin, also getting 2 top 4 defense in my mind is also a win. It is easier to replace forwards then experienced defense and with SK's ability to recruit I am sure he will fill the holes.

Obviously the Grads felt they needed forwards, in this they got 4 that have played in league previously (Currie played 2010-11 with Stallions). Their front end looks OK with the likes of Clitsome, Rodier, Packard leading the way along with others like Pelock, King, Goldberg, Allan as returning returning players. However they certainly have left themselves short on the back end, with only 2 returning defense, one of which played in their top 4 last year.

I have not yet seen official league announcement of trade, my bet is there is also a PDF going to Cumberland.

Another thing that quite often happens with these Pemb deals is 1 or 2 of these players might end up back in Pemb at trade deadline when Cumb is out of playoffs and pemb is making a run.

That is no longer allowed under league rules, players can not be traded back to the same team for at least 12 months (not sure exact time frame). This rule came into affect when "rental" players refused to report back to their original teams a couple of seasons ago.

Pemb/Cumby

I feel as though Pembroke had won that trade. Currie is a skilled forward who may make the jump to the Q, and King will plateau as a 3rd liner. PLK has skilled centers coming in, as well as Drouin on the back end which should correlate with a smooth PP

Currie who got cut by last years stallions is gonna make the jump to the Q? and Kings way too young for you to be saying hes going to plateau. Pembrokes PP will strive with the addition of harper and drouin but SK has his hands full on teaching these two defense, as their both small soft dman who got out battled in their own zone more often than not. SK will indeed make them more complete players thats for sure. I think Packard and King have pretty strong work ethic on the ice which might be something that team was lacking overall last season. If cumberland can pick up some defense and maintain a 'hawksburry' style of constantly pressuring teams they might surprise but thats if they get some D...

Pembroke's Goalie

Speaking of Pembroke, has anyone heard who their starter is going to be this year?

Trades

Brockville trades 1995 F Colin Kruse to Cumberland for a 2nd round pick in 2013.

Kemptville trades 1992 F Steven Genier and 1994 D David Chiarelli to Nepean for a 6th round pick in 2014 and future considerations.

Kruse finished 3rd in scoring last year playing for the Ottawa Senators Major Midget AAA. Lot's of speed and skill but not very physical.

Maybe in Cumberland. Still might be tough considering he's never played junior.

Not a chance...he should produce somewhere between 15 and 25 points this season

Signed 18 year old goalie Andrew Munroe. Munroe, a 61" 180 pound native of Keswick, Ontario played the last two seasons for Holderness Prep School in New Hampshire. Last season he held a 2.6 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

No junior experience, so who knows how he'll make out in the CCHL.

He tried to be more physical last year but he just couldn't do it, so he resorted to cheap behind the play BS. That works OK in Major Midget where guys can't afford to fight, but I don't see him getting away with that in JR.

Whats with brockville?

Almost two weeks ago, the coaching staff dangled a big carrott in everyones face about how fans will be excited about their new signings, and pickups.
Its been long enough, whats the big deal about telling people who these team members are going to be.... I find the hints and game annoying.

well if he can't play a defensive role than theres no point in this deal..building for future i guess but if there gonna commit to that than just get rid of all there 92, 93 born players for younger ones

I find it hard to believe that Keefe is going to have an 18 year old with no junior experience as his starter. He must have signed this guy as his backup.

Any game I saw him play he was a real factor and played physical and was always one of the best players for the Sen. I think he got hurt part way through the year and may have slowed down his physical play. But, please let's call it like it is....the ODMHA Major Midget AAA league is a "behind the play BS" league....it is not just one player doing it, it is loads of players doing it and if the BS was called on every play, there would not be enough players left to go on the ice. I thnk Kruse will do well in Jr. A as long as he can stay healthy.

Why are you annoyed? The season doesn't start for another month and a half relax Brockville will be Ok this year.
