Ryane Clowe To Vancouver

Yes, I know San Jose and Vancouver are both contending teams in the West, so why on earth would Clowe be traded to Vancouver. I get that. But just hypothetically if San Jose acquires Nash. Clowe probably becomes available. Clowe would be an ideal addition to Vancouver's top 6, so what would San Jose want from us?

Younger, faster, lesser top-6 winger (not Raymond).

I don't think we're good trading partners.

Sharks aren't acquiring Nash and even if DW is stupid enough to do it Clowe would probably be a Blue Jacket.

David Booth? Not younger. But fits everything else.

Personally I'm afraid Clowe might have dramatic regression soon because of his play style. Not really willing to risk it.

If Nash becomes a Shark without Clowe being involved, it means that they lost Pavelski. If there was anyone on the Canucks that I'd ask for in that situation, even with it not being a fair request, it'd be Ryan Kesler. Clowe plus things that are reasonable for Kesler. Otherwise, trading Clowe to Vancouver is only a detriment to the Sharks.

something around higgins++ probably would make most sense. everyone else either sucks (raymond) or isn't tradable. not sure if it would help us though, don't think we make good trade partners at all.

If San Jose gets Nash, Clowe is likely in Columbus

But for kicks ill play along. Id ask for Kassian + Higgins

Overpayment? Likely but thats needed when top teams trade amongst each other.

To be fair, Raymond doesn't suck. He's younger, faster, can play the PK, and here is still a decent probablility of his offensive game recovering after his back injury last year. I'd be willing to do Raymond + middle tier prospect like Billy Sweat and a 2nd. Anything more and it's not worth the risk imo.

Meh, no thanks. Higgins+Schroeder I'd do but not Kassian.

Mason Raymond is also younger and faster than both Sedin's and he also kill penalties while they don't I don't think that's a good measure of value. Clowe is an ideal piece to Vancouver's top 6 likely puts us over the top, it would take a lot more than that to acquire him.

what if we added a D prospect like Taylor Doherty to Clowe. Clowe is the one man in the NHL that may be able to go toe to toe with Lucic in talent and fists. he's not going to be cheap.

Yup, it probably would. But I for one wouldn't want to pay that price for a power forward with that much mileage. It has Bertuzzi written all over it.

The Canucks fans who want Clowe didn't see him play last year.

I actually don't want to trade Clowe anymore.

If Clowe plays like he did last year, we can keep him at a much more affordable price when he hits UFA next year and hope he rebounds.

If Clowe plays like he did the year before, he'll help us tremendously in our playoff run (IF we get in *knocks on wood*)

Even if we are to trade Clowe, it will be at the deadline when his value is inflated and it'll be to a contender in the Eastern Conference.

raymond is a pretty lousy asset, and i dont see the sharks wanting to take a chance on a soft 3rd line winger, albeit he shows flashes. The 2 teams really arent good trading partners.

kassian will not be dealt. gillis is at the very least wait a year or two as he develops, because he absolutely does have the potential to be a clowe-esque player who could go toe-to-toe with lucic.

Clowe strikes me as a bit of a head case...but in a good way.

So i'd love to see him with the Nucks.

Just don't see DW moving a guy like that while he is at a low value.

I'd do Booth straight up, hell, I'd throw in a pick.

CBJ fans made it very clear Clowe is too old, don't know why everyone is saying he would be traded in a Nash deal.

Then we flip Booth to CBJ along with others for Nash.
