Doesn't make him elite.

That said, I would take him on the Rangers, because we can use another VERY GOOD player.
If Nash goes to the Rangers, you'll love him and be embarrassed you ever compared him to Alex Semin

Yep....A real hockey deal for sure.

Foligno, Zbad (top prospect), 1st, and maybe Bishop/Lehner would do it for me.

There are so many different combinations not discussed that make it appealing as well.

I have been wanting to hear this from Nash as well....

would have to be a deal around Lehner - 20 year old top goalie prospect. Any team could've had Bishop for a pick last year, he's nice but changes are not a franchise goalie which at least Lehner has the potnetial to be

You just lost a whole lot of credibility in my mind.

A good prospect is far from a throwaway. What a joke.

That was an 8th overall pick, a 23-year-old NHL player in Sutter who can slot in as a good third-liner or average second-liner, and an NHL-ready defenseman who's regarded as one of the best defensive defenseman prospects in the NHL. All of that for someone who just hit 50 points for the first time, despite averaging over 19 minutes of ice time each of the last four years.

But somehow Nash is regarded as being worth less than that? Insanity.

CBJ not trying to build a team of old, overprice free agents. Leave that to the Rangers with Gomez, Drury, Jagr, Richards, Wade Redden...I honestly can't think of a worse thing for a Ranger fan to brag about than free agency

No Jackets fans here are saying the CBJ are a destination players and free agents are dying to come to, so not sure your point.

Apparently he is destroying rookie camp so far. He is a lot more mature and slim as well. I guess the coaches stacked the other team in this scrimmage yesterday just to try and score on him

I totally get fans liking their team's young talent but I still cannot understand the hatred for Nash and acting like he's some scrub with minimal value.

Nice yeah I like the idea of Lehner but wasn't sure what young roster player they would offer, haven't seen much or know anything about Foligno and just don't know anything really about their prospects

At least the Sens preliminary discussions we think included the possibility of (Lehner/Zjad). To get a player of Nash's caliber it would take a prospect(s) like that to be involved.

I mean JT "freaking" Miller and Dubi + a LATE first. How about a patch of Torts beard included as well.

I prefer Stepan and Miller quite a bit over Sutter and Doumulin (SP?), but that's just me.

fair enough, i think its close enough as a comparison... if I'm splitting hairs, its Sutter > Stepan and Doumulin < Miller but the NYR 1st << CAR 1st

Not as much as I prefer the 8th overall pick instead of the projected late 1st rounder

The players are comparable though.

So now it's Lehner + Zib + 1st + Foligno

People are out of their ****ing minds if they think they are getting that package for an overpaid under performing prima donna. Stop drinking the Howson koolaid.

If there are really feeling it they might include a quick sign and trade deal with Prust as well.

Prima Donna? He has an extensive international resume, if he was selfish why would he put himself though that. Underperforming? 30-40 goals a year as the main, arguably sole focus for every shut-down unit that Columbus plays. Paid too much, well...not his fault but yes does make him harder to acquire.

29 teams want Nash.

0 teams want to give up what CBJ fans and Howson want.

If this was not true, Nash would have been traded already.

Your right....I wouldn't know much about him because apprently nobody writes much about him. Yet he is a top prospect in your organization. How he stacks up in comparison to the other NHL teams is I guess irrelevant.

A little spin here, no?
Miller wasn't considered a top prospect cause nobody knew much about him. Rangers usually (Since we switched scouting management etc) like to draft North American blue collar players.

Miller is gonna be a new Mike Richards. Not sure if he'll ever be as good but he will be a solid 2-way forward. Plays a similar game too.
