It takes two to tango. The Rangers are not giving Howson carte blanche to raid their team/system. And Howson is going to have to realize that cap relief from Nash's contract is an asset.

That's something you would have to ask Rutherford. But a combo of Murphy, Dalpe, Mcbain, Jokinen and picks isn't going to cut it for Howson imo.

Another day another attempt by Howson to prod NYR into doing something they wont do. Not trading Kreider, Stepan or McDonagh. Waste of time
Same story, different day.

Indeed. Howson is such a fool, I honestly pity CBJ fans.

Anyways, I would imagine he would want Filppula, Nyquist, Sproul, and a 2013 1st as a min for Nash if he was dealing with the Wings.

I just dont like all the Ranger prospect bashing going on here. Our drafting/development has done quite well for the last 5-6 year or so, better than yours while drafting around 20 spots lower. Obviously the Rangers are doing something right. While you might not know much about our farm system, doesnt give you the right to bash pretty much all our prospects besides Kreider and McD.
seriously, you are being defensive and arguing for no reason. I'm sure JT Miller and Christian Thomas are fine. The bottom line is, when you part with an elite player in his 20's you want to try and get as close to "sure things" as you can get. Can't blame Howson for that.

Howson can try and sell Columbus on the fact that Krieder or Stepan or someone like that can be a young player on the CBJ next year and big part of the future - he can't say that about a JT Miller.

The Wings have nothing to offer. Their time is over.

No way Skinner would be involved in any trade. He is inexpensive and a better player honestly.

What would hurt more?
1) Asking for all of that, not getting it, and keeping Nash, or
2) Not asking for all of that, and getting some garbage depth players from somewhere else just to get a deal done?

Howson should tell Nash he is staying if he doesn't add more teams.

If the Rangers were in this situation with Callahan, would you take a garbage deal just to get it done? No, you'd want the best return possible. No one is going to mistake Scotty Howson for Scotty Bowman but I don't see how you can blame him for trying to get a major return for his captain and star player

How about you show us where anyone offered that for Nash?

Or is this the same type of exaggeration you use in determining Nash's worth?

I would think honestly it wouldn't make any difference. In scenario 2 (the Ranger rumors I don't consider to be garbage depth players), there's at least potential something a rebuilding team needs as much of as possible.

Flyers submitted big bids on both Parise and Suter. For the moment, Philly appears to be out on Nash. Things can change quickly.

3 first round picks and a guy who would step right into your top 6 is trash? Howson certainly knows his constituents.

Howson is killing his reputation right now amongst players (assuming it wasn't already killed).

He has a player that has given everything to Columbus for the past 10 years and now asked to be traded. Howson has not honored that request and is asking for outrageous return on a disgruntled player. Don't think for one second that other players aren't paying attention to this and would keep this in the back of their minds before signing any kind of lengthy deal with CBJ.

Yeah... you ever heard of this thing called exaggerating because you are certainly doing it well.

No Rangers fans are offering Stu Bickel or Stralman. If so maybe 1 or 2 did it. J.T. Miller is hardly a C level throw away prospect (do some research before you type), and Del Zotto is no slouch. We also never said you have to take that deal. Jesus, who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?
