I think Souray might be a fit on the bottom pair. he can PP and PK and he's tough. As long as he doesn't want term

A couple years ago we seen Gonchar sign here in first 5 minutes. Biggest signing so far is Pouliout... -.-

Any interest in defensive help as a basis, a vet like Leopold (very solid guy on an increasingly great-looking contract) or prospect (Brennan is NHL-ready, there are plenty others)?
Dude be serious, young top 6 forward, agitator, can play centre, and you offer Brennan and Leopold. You can't even offer McNabb?

This is my prediction: Parenteau

Players in order of preference:

Forwards: Penner, Parenteau, Doan, Samuelsson, Homlstrom, Langenbrunner, Fehr, Latendresse, Boyes, Tootoo, Prust, Asham, Jokinen.

Defensemen: Allen, Carle, Salvador, Barker, Bouillon, O'Donnel, Hannan, White, Souray

I was just asking what would be a starting point. Leopold + prospects/picks is pretty fair. We have some very good defensive prospects. I mentioned Brennan because he is NHL ready, didn't tell you what to not choose from.

Hope the Wings sign him in the next 10 mins so I don't have to even think of him in a Sens jersey.

Have a hard time respecting a player that talented who shows up once a week

Players/their agents know how thin the market is. They will push the price up this year rather than jumping quickly at an offer. In years past, if you hesitated you could easily lose an offer. I know of a few specific cases of that happening and players losing a few mil over a 2 or 3 year term. This year there's very little danger of that.

No it's not fair. Sens aren't trading youth for old depth players. If they want a Leopold they can get one in UFA.

Agreed he could really do well in Detroit were as I don't see him fitting here as well.

You're acting like I made an offer when I was asking a question. I said we have vets like Leopold, ready prospects like Brennan, and plenty of other defensive prospects.

But I'll just move along and put my faith in God to let be what must be.

Closing this for now as we have a Free Agency Frenzy thread for today and don't need to comment on the same thing twice
