I can't **** on Zach for being tempted by a huge payday. There is nobody on this planet that wouldn't at least consider offers no matter how loyal they may be to their employer.
This will not be an easy decision for Zach if in fact the Devils aren't being limited due to the financial questions.
NJ is still in this. If thy weren't I'd suspect you would have likely already seen a couple of signings by Lou at this point. One being Marty and possibly some other UFA of ours.
That's what I thought when we re-signed Langs and Elias was still a UFA, I was paranoid Elias was gone cause we had no cap room. Of course we had to dump Malakhov's cap hit but we eventually were able to slot them both in.
If Parise leaves he'll get booed. Not sure how much he will deserve it but it will happen.
It's more than just the fact he'd be leaving, probably to a division rival who'll become a close second behind the Rangers in terms of hatred...there's a bit of a personal betrayal involved. It'll be ugly, and three times a year at that if not more.
I don't know if you're talking about Brodeur or Parise. If the former, you are 100% wrong. If the latter, there's still a good shot you're wrong. Either of the two bolt, I think a number of fans are going to look at it as the team having no money, and not a player leaving because they want out (like some free agents of the past). One word of advice: relax.
I'm being realistic. I don't understand the love for Parise here. Parise is invisible when it matters. This team will be fine without him. Kovalchuk can carry the team
He is the little guy with the incredible heart and motor and these valuable characteristics tend to draw in fans more than it should. But you're right, he never has been a superstar. And that's the type of money that is being thrown around. Short term the loss will hurt, but longterm it will be in the devils best interest to avoid this bidding war.
