Former AHL star?

Why does it not surprise me that the Jets are interested?

Nervous that he wouldn't live up to his contract.

I'd rather pay Parise 9 million then PA 5. You know what you are going to get from Parise.

Let's be realistic though. 2nd year of the team, no history of winning, not a big spender, not a major media market, cold winters... AT THIS POINT there's nothing that is going to be a particular draw to top talent.

That's not to say we can't build up to the point where people want to come to Winnipeg. Build a winning team and culture, treat players right, and develop a history in the league, and we could become a desirable location to sign.

I'm "really interested" in getting freaky with a bunch of ladies of dubious morals, but realistically it isn't going to happen since I'm not a) famous, b) good looking, c) insanely rich, d) Charlie Sheen, or e) all of the above. Saying it doesn't mean a thing.

I hope we aren't "really interested" in winning because every other team in the division has improved since the end of the season and the Jets appear to have adopted the 20 year plan.

Between now and the start of the season (whenever that might be), the majority of the teams out there will either improve more, or make steps to keep up... and the Jets will still be on the 20 year plan, targeting 4th liners and apparently thinking they can legitimately expect to turn them into top 6ers.

Perhaps I am being unrealistic, but I think fans in all 30 cities in the NHL will be expecting their team to do what it takes to get better, or at least hold the status quo from last year... I don't see why Jets fans should be any different.

PA Parenteau actually scored at a higher rate when he was not on the Tavares line. I'd be pretty pumped if we landed him

Lot of talk now that Parise's almost guaranteed to be going to the Pens. Had a call with Crosby already enticing him to sign.

REALLY hope this isn't the case, I like Parise... hate the Pens. That's all they need is another goal scorer.

If we ever got Parise, trade Enstrom for Zajac and let them play with Kane. I know this is quite the longshot but those two have played together since their teens. That would be my pipedream.

Phone calls won't matter in the end. Parise is going to the team that pays him a competitive salary (regardless of term) and an insane signing bonus.

I wouldn't mind PA either, I also think Boyes will have a bounce back year.

Good for him - got the longer contract he was looking for, and a bump on salary. Great guy - wish him the best.

Would've been nice to get him signed. I'll miss his hitting more than anything else.

I guess Tanner really took to heart the "Crosby's Better" chants.

Glass was a fantastic person when he played for the Jets, a vocal booster of both the organization and city.

Best of luck to him.
