If we resign winnik and manage to get a top 6 winger I'm really liking this line up.

Lol. Yah .. I got confused when you said Winnik bought as much offense as Burrish but wanted twice as much. 1.8 x 2 = 3.6.

I had heard that Winnik was asking 2.5M from the Avs too.

I'll ask what is rational about paying a 4th liner $1.8 million a year for 4 years?

It's a bad contract IMO. Not a bad player but as one poster said it's a bad contract for a team that doesn't have the room to make such deals.

Biggest impact of this signing may be us knowing Pavs is safe now...or so it seems.

If DW plans on Pavs on the third Semin would make a lot of sense to fill his old spot on the top line.

Whitney saying on TSN that he decided on Dallas because they were the only team that offered a two-year contract. Interesting...

If Winnik doesn't sign, what about Tanner Glass as a backup plan?

I honestly think Galiardi will take Winnik's place on 3rd line. I have a feeling Winnik doesn't want to return.

Burish 4yr/1.8 or Taco Torrey 3yr/1.9...

Burish the lesser of two evils IMO

We're not going to be competing for the Cup in 4 yrs, so it doesn't really matter. I don 't have much of an issue with it. I like Burish. Pretty much this is how much it takes to get a good 3rd/4th line guy now.

Maybe we sign Mueller to play with Joe Thornton. From what I've heard, he has a very good shot but is slow.

That is exactly my point.

But he is getting 2.5M and does not look like we are going to buy him out. In a situation like that I bet they play him this year and not just sit him.

I would like Wellwood back too, but I bet DW's mission at this point is to avoid players that don't have a physical presence.

Kinda like cheech!
Yeah worst comes to worst I guess we could trade something small for Hemsky and have two Czech glass cannons.
