probably. Could you imagine Marleau being torched by the relentless Montreal hockey media? And with a name like "Marleau" they'd probably expect that he'd speak french, then destroy him when he admits that he doesn't because he grew up in Saskatchewan.

Haven't the Habs been rumored to want Marleau for awhile? The classic Halak, Plekanec and a 2nd rumor. I think a majority of the Habs fan base still thinks Marleau is of French-Canadian decent. And you're right Nem, he would definitely be demolished there for not speaking French. I doubt he would wave his NMC.
As far as Havlet, I think he's buddies with Plekanec. But I know DW had wanted him for a while (the failed Toskala for Havlet trade).
I just don't know what would be coming back our way... no Gomez or Kaberle!

I am more of an exception than a rule, but I grew up in Saskatchewan and speak fluid French. There are many French immersion schools here. Still, a large majority doesn't speak French and Marleau probably doesn't either.

Yah, I think DW will try to get Moore back or someone around the same 1.5M range who could center the 3rd line. I really do not know how they can have Handzus centering the 3rd line after last year.
