Why? He's an RFA so it's not like we don't have any leverage. And his camp has said nothing regarding any unhappiness so why are we all getting so wound up over nothing?

Plus, he isn't ready for a full time starting job at the nhl level.

I dont keep the better goalie in the minors to back up the back up.
I give the panthers the best chance to win...and markstrom IMHO gives us a much better chance to win then clemmer any game. Plus i wanted theo to work with him for a year.
the best these two do is as good as last year, and that would be a shock.

Theo making 1.5 vs Clemmer reportedly making 1.2
Unless Clemmer got a frontloaded contract (I doubt it), that's 1st grade maths.

Oh, I thought it was $1.2 million over two years.
They haven't reported it on the stream but it is on their site.

They've shown it on the ticker feed. And as I understand the deal, it's 2 years at $1.2MM each year. And yes, his last contract was for $1.5MM
My guess is that Theo retires after this season and we have Markstrom and Clemmer next season competing for the starting job.

So if we signed Clemmer cheap, then we got a lot of money to use. RFAs Versteeg and Kulikov will take around 8-9 million of those 20 mill we had left (read that Santos said it was 20mill or something). 1 million for Clemmer. Makes 10 million left? Making a big trade and/or sign big UFA name... make it happen Tallon..

Yeah, 2 years at 1.2 Million. Great Deal by DT!
I dont think they will compete for the starting job. My guess is Markstrom will get the starting job BUT Clemmensen will still play a lot of games.
