Wonder if CLB trading a D away for a forward is because of the players on offer for Nash? If they're getting teams offering more D than forwards then they can switch things up that way...

Sweet. I was worried about an overpayment for him.

Larry Brooks ‏@NYP_Brooksie

Told that Red Wing offer for Nash is not competitive...Carolina, Ottawa, Philly not on 61's list.

Do they at least think about moving Weber--do they roll with him on a one-year $7.5 deal, knowing they would lose him next year?

They've been trying to clear Methot for a while, I wouldn't read much into it. They have some kids ready to play (Moore, Savard), not to mention Murray.

Plus, they pretty much robbed Ottawa blind on that. Methot is, at best, a #5-6. Foligno is pretty comfortably a 2nd line winger.

How could Philly not be on Nash's list? I don't buy that at all.

How can the Flyers afford this? Is there going to be no cap in the new CBA?

idk it was reported at 80+ so i wouldn't consider 90mil "Much higher" so maybe in the 100mil range. that would be a mistake imo

I wanted Mason as our back up, but if the extra cap space gets Suter or Parise, its all good.

Yeah looked like a good deal for them. If they manage to get a decent return on Nash then they might actually shape up fairly well once the team gels.
