Bryz's performance was constantly fluctuating last season and our team is based around youth mostly so I'm guessing the assumption is our team will get better and Bryz will hopefully steady himself.

For 12 years? That makes cap hits of over 8M for each one until they are 39? That would be pretty dumb imo.

I'd say only have an NMC/NTC for the first half of both contracts.

The Penguins, Red Wings and Wild represent the stiffest competition. Each of them are believed to have submitted long-term offers, albeit, for fewer dollars.
Flyers have best offer in terms of dollars.

Even that way, we'll have other players to re-sign in the next 6 years. Suter and Parise are both great players, but 8mil/year long term is a huge overpayment.

Well we all know that will never happen. They would both receive NMC throughout the contracts.

Hilarious to see the Pens fans trash Holmgren and the Flyers.

Panotch speculates it's $110M for each at 12 years.

PENGUINS FREE AGENCY UPDATE VII (updated 8:10 p.m.)
The waiting game is now on for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins who have been involved in an aggressive pursuit for star winger Zach Parise, have been informed by Parise's reps at Newport Sports in the past hour that the Penguins are still in the mix and that they will be in touch with the team again on Monday, agent Don Meehan confirmed to Inside Pittsburgh Sports.com just after 8:00 p.m, indicating that Pittsburgh is indeed on Parise's shortlist of teams.
Pittsburgh is believed to have made an initial mega offer of 10 years that the team is believed have increased later in the afternoon, but nothing close to the 13 year - $100+ million offer the Philadelphia Flyers have made to Parise and indications are the Minnesota Wild have also offered a deal in the 12-13 year range worth over $100 million.

If this is true, i can only assume that Mr Snider is making one last bid to win a cup while he is still in good health and able to enjoy it. The problem is there are certainly no sure things in sports.Money cannot buy chemistry .

It's a huge risk if they accept. Meszaros would have to go and voracek would likely be traded.

Giroux + anything good = chemistry.

I wouldn't be incensed by getting either of them for a ridiculous price, but it is a little extreme...

Based on what the credible TSN let loose, the cap hit is 7.5-8.5m/year for 12-13 years. That's around the range we offered.

I explained why in a post earlier. Panotch can speculate 9.00m/year cap hits all he wants. That doesn't mean it makes any sense.

They will be heavily front loaded, highly doubt either would make it to 40 yrs old. Bobby Mac figured with signing bonuses and 1st year salary they could make up to 28 mill in first calendar year ???
