As long as they are better than our current players, I have no problem with it. Rumours about Doan and Jagr could mean sending Morrow to the third line or out of Dallas.

The Jagr? In Dallas? Man I'd have to get a Jagr jersey. Just to say I have one.

At this point, we're just replacing existing vet leadership with stop gap vet leadership. Keeping the team entertaining while buying time for the prospects to force their way on to the team.

Vincour's hockey pants just got tight. I'm sure he's praying it comes true.

Yes, I get both your points, but the WC schedule- especially ours- is rather grueling. Someone like Whitney (or Doan) is used to it, but Jagr has never played in the WC. It's just a concern whether his body will be able to handle the load. Why not try R. Smith or Fraser on line 2 and see what happens?

because obviously they dont think those guys are ready. I have to say I like what they are doing this offseason. its become obvious they were never going to go into a full out Edmonton-style rebuild, so instead they are signing/acquiring a few stopgaps until the forward prospects are ready. Instead of rushing them to the NHL too soon.

The only reason I didn't mention him was the fact he won't get to spend the entire year with him if it goes down, but yeah I can't imagine being a Czech teenager in training camp with Jaromir freaking Jagr.

I get that if this happens we're probably getting a 50 point winger, but it will be nice to have a guy like him around IMO.

FYI ... Dreger's report from yesterday was Jagr is looking for a 1 year deal for $4 million.

Shouldn't be an issue IMO.

Leadership group dramatically changed with Ott, Ribs gone and Whitney and maybe Jagr in.

Joe wasn't kidding when he said this group needed new leadership and that he would make any changes needed.

Just a historical question

Regarding the Jagr talks at the moment, what was your feeling when you heard that Eric Lindros will be a Dallas Star?

Thoughts?
I would be ****ing stoked to see Jagr added to this lineup. If that's the case I honestly don't care if we do or don't trade Morrow, just slide him down to the 3rd line and make him deal.

If we got Jagr, I would want to immediately get a jersey, and then remember the Stars don't have even the alternates anymore, and then I would be sad and just not get one.

Not even remotely close to being comparable situations. Jags scored 50 some odd points last season while Lindros was coming to us as clearly damaged goods (to put it lightly).

I'd still like to see a defensive acquisition. Goose, Robi, Daley, Larsen make for a undersized d-corps and Rome, Dillon, and Fistric aren't exactly going to see more ice-time than the four above.

Jagr has more skill than Lindros and proved he can still play last year.

Lindros was just a bum after the first few years he played.

Signing Jags would be brilliant at this point. Put some butts in the seats and let some of the kids marinate in the minors a little longer while making a strong playoff push. This could be very 2007-2008 Texas Rangers.

As much as I'd love Jagr AND Doan ... I don't think it happens as it would push someone to the third line ... you could always throw the all Czech line out as a third line (Vincour/Faksa/Jagr) - not going to happen though

Heika is so bloody clueless as to what they're doing with all these signings (and all those they're talking to). Would love to see him go off if we sign Jagr and Doan.

A wrench has been thrown in his spokes that's for sure. Kinda fun to see how openly he's questioning everything. Joe has blown his mind man.
