No, that would be Markstrom + to Vancouver and Theodore to the Leafs.

I think it's Red Wings Plan B.

He played very well with Datsyuk at the WHC. They do well with Russians, lazy or not.

Wants to play in the NHL, but there is a risk for playing in KHL. His last contract was 6.7mil or so, I wonder if he will take a cheaper contract.

Don't you think he'd do a reasonable hit contract somewhere like Detroit for a year to prove himself?

Maybe he'd look okay beside Malkin?

He was the Leafs' leading scorer in the 196364, 196667 and 196970 seasons, and the team's top goal scorer in 197071 and 197273. Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era.[3] He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 197071, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.

I expect that he is a back-up plane to many teams to Parise.

Detroit and Pittsburgh to be would make sense with Datsyuk and Malkin to kind keep Semin in it.

If we've learned anything in the last few years:

You don't need 1st overall players or elite explosive forwards.

Sound defense with good goaltending wins over explosive forwards and run and gun.

Brian Burke realized this after 3 years of Ron Wilson...but at least he realized it.

Another example is the Flyers, they are NEVER going to win the Cup anytime soon unless they focus on D over forwards.

Bryzgalov was a scapegoat and he was indeed terrible but with that defense in front of him, it didn't really matter.

Look at the Pens, they drafted all D after they realized they have 4/6 defenseman that are pylons.

Ridiculous how a team can just sit and fail for so many years and be rewarded with a potential dynasty.

If you look at Tavares who is getting 5.5 for 6 years, who is much more important in NYI and has had better numbers, then you can see Eberle, Hall, Hopkins, Yakupov, will be making very reasonable contracts. All they need is a UFA D or two and they have a dynasty on there hands.

Is it hate or jealousy?

I keep hearing the rebuild is a failure and Eberle just turned 22. And Eberle is the key old guy on their rebuild. Gagne will be 23 in August, and he's a secondary player.

Maybe people are right when they say Leafs' fans couldn't handle a rebuild from scratch and would expect 22 year olds to be lifting the Cup?

The Edmonton rebuild is a failure? Where do you keep hearing this because I haven't heard one person say that.

We live in an age of no patience. None whatsoever. But rebuilds aren't a 1 or 2 year thing. It takes at least 3-4 years (sometimes longer) before you see the results.
