I didn't think he would, but I did acknowledge the possibility. He doesn't like big markets and DET is just that.

Can't believe Minny got them both. Will be interested in how much money they have tied up in those two now.

Vancouver will at least have some competition in that division now.

Now, NSH GM Poile MUST find out if he can re-sign Weber long term. If not, he needs to begin shopping him. NYR/STL have assets to make deal
No way Nashville trades Weber within the division, but god, that'd be amazing.

I don't even want to think what it would take to land Weber.

If that actually happened, I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing.

Good for Minnesota.

Detroit could legitimately start to decline. Finally.

I haven't seen Detroit fans this rattled since Tkachuk ran over Hasek in the corner at Joe Louis in '02.

I wish Minnesota was in our division this coming year.

We have great games against them to begin with.

Well done to Minnesota, but those a pretty big numbers. Not a huge surprise they got them both considering the rumours over the past couple of weeks, but still.

Hopefully the Wings go and overpay on Carle now, I still hope they don't get Semin.

Minnesota is going to be top heavy for a while now.

Backstrom is a UFA soon.

I can see them making a big pitch for him now, but right now, I don`t care

Even if they end up with Semin and Carle, they still won't be as good next season.

Even though I like our team, it's still somewhat depressing that we were never in on Suter and Parise, and we probably won't be in on any major free agents for the forseeable future. We could even be in danger of being in the Nashville situation a couple of years from now, when our core starts turning UFA.

I don't think so. While the Blues won't be a team that spends up to the cap, they'll be able to afford raises on Petro/Shattenkirk/Oshie/Stewart/Perron/etc if they win on a consistent basis as well as ownership showing a commitment to winning.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bäckström is a Maple Leaf before the start of the season...

Say "hello" to Minnesota's insurance policy in goal...

...and to Minnesota's other insurance policy in goal.

They could probably roll with a Harding/Hackett combo and not suffer that much.

Harding is a top 30 goalie in the league IMO when healthy.

Wow! I was really hoping that Suter would go to Minnesota this entire time because I thought that their team as a whole wasn't great, so adding him wouldn't really help a whole lot, at least until their young guns improve. Adding Parise makes them a playoff team in my mind. They still have Heatley and Seto, now they have their big guy on the back end along with a game changing forward. Wow. I hope Granlund struggles a lot or they're going to be a force, maybe as early as next year. Canucks are going to have a tough time winning the Presidents this year seeing as they actually have some competition within their division now. Good for Minne. They have some die hard fans that haven't really experienced much to be happy about. Wish they were in the East though
