It's good to have him... there is never a year where a defense corp in NHL goes uninjured... He knows the system and can step in to give us minutes while adding toughness... He should not be our 6th Dman though, more like a 7 or 8, and he should improve a little bit this year, seeing as he is relatively young for Dman
People made too much of this guys short comings. Fine with this. Kid's a warrior.
When you play 5 minutes a game and still manage to have a negative impact on the game sometimes, you need to seriously improve.
I like Stu as the 7th d-man, not as the 6th. Sure, he can improve, and I hope he does because he's a likable guy who could fill the enforcer role so Slats doesn't sign a goon like Parros, but he's going to need to make a concentrated effort to get better at defense.
Either way it's a good signing, minuscule cap hit and he can fill a few roles.
