Make a team of the players most important to the Senators

As the title says, only rule is players must play their natural position, modern and original are allowed

You can define important

Denneny-Spezza-Alfredsson
Touhey-Nighbor-Finnigan
Havlat-Fisher-Hossa
Darragh-McGee-Neil
Bonk

Volchenkov-Phillips
Chara-Redden
Boucher-Karlsson
Clancy

Benedict
Lalime
Conell

holy crap sask, you're old. How d'you know all those playa's?

Heatley - Spezza - Alfredsson
Hossa - Yashin - Havlat
McEachern - Bonk - Dackell
Vermette - Fisher - Neil
Kelly

Chara - Karlsson
Phillips - Volchenkov
Redden - York
Kuba

Emery
Lalime

Picked the players, then made the lines based on skill. 2nd line doesn't equal more important than 4th line for example, just more skilled.

Would swap Hasek (28-10-4) or Leclaire (16-21-3) for Prusek (28-9-4)

Here's a team made up entirely of John Muckler's acquisitions:

Heatley - Smolinski - McAmmond
Schaefer - Comrie - Bondra
Saprykin - Hennessy - Arnason
Varada - Ray - McGrattan
Tetarenko

Corvo - Preissing
de Vries - Nycholat
Pothier - Barinka
Norton - Simpson

Hasek (adductor version)
Mike Morrison

I feel like Ivan Ciernik, Dave van Drunen, and Erich Goldmann are also missing from this potential-laden lineup.

  • Silfverberg-Spezza-Zibanejad
  • Stone-Turris-Michalek (Alfredsson if not retired)
  • Greening-Regin-Condra
  • JOB-Smith-Hoffman (Noesen if he makes it)
  • Cowen-Karlsson
  • Methot-Gonchar
  • Phillips-Boro
  • Anderson
  • Bishop (Lehner if he shows well in Bingo)

The reason this line up is the most important, is because it could be a possible line up for next season and these are some of the players I would like to see playing NHL hockey for a good portion of this season.

Ah yes, Ivan "The Terrible" Ciernik.

I remember someone dropped by this board one day asking to buy a game worn jersey of his. True story.

The fact Jody Hull isn't in this line up is disgusting and shameful.

It's not restricted to this up-coming season...

What, no Chris Luongo? Surely he's ahead of Preissing. Guy was so important.
