I'm expecting Pens to offer Parise something in neighborhood of 10 years, $75-80 million.
If that is true and the rumors about the structure Parise is demanding is correct then it will have to look something like this...
Year 1: 14 mill (12 mill signing bonus) (Age 28)
Year 2: 14 mill (12 mill signing bonus) (Age 29)
Year 3: 9 mill (Age 30)
Year 4: 9 mill (Age 31)
Year 5: 7 mill (Age 32)
Year 6: 7 mill (Age 33)
Year 7: 6 mill (Age 34)
Year 8: 4 mill (Age 35)
Year 9: 3 mill (Age 36)
Year 10: 2 mill (Age 37)
Total: 10 Years 75,000,000
Cap Hit: 7.5 per Year

It's already been proven by many that the pens would be ok with signing parise into the future

I wonder what the chances are that both Parise & Brodeur are no longer Devils? It may only be one or the other.

Definitely not expecting Parise to sign here. I still think he will re-sign in NJ, but I'm ready to lol hard if he doesn't. Also ready to cry should he sign in Pitt.

They've already resigned Neal.
Hah oops, I should look at capgeek before I post.

Neal, Letang, and Fleury (despite his series against the Flyers) are no slouches either
Yeah I forgot Neal was re-signed. Letang and Fluery are key pieces but I was talking more about their core of forwards.
Who knows what is going to happen though. Maybe they can get away with Malkin/Crosby/Parise/Neal and a bunch of cheap, young players.

If you're not particular about their first names that shouldn't be much of a problem.

Is this the worst list of UFAs ever? You have only two guarantees in zach and suter. Everyone else comes with question marks

oh boy I was afraid Kuba was on Torts list. Can he play RD? Better not be a ton of money if they bring him in.
now to stay within the rules looking at the list there is going to be some guys willing to take a chance on for teams. So look for some more overpayment

Decent bottom 6-er. Big concussion issues though.

No matter what people say, Edmonton will be very good, very soon. Someone said that adding RNH last year didn't help them, so why would adding The Nailer and Schultz help? Because of the cumulative effect, not to mention that RNH and Taylor Hall will continue to get better. Their second round picks are also about as good as our first rounder this year.
Hall, RNH, Nail, Eberle and Gagner, plus prospects and lesser players gives them amazing firepower.
Defense gets much better with the addition of Schultz, who would've been a top-10 draftee this year if he went through the draft.
They lack a goalie, but those tend to come cheaper in trades than people expect.
Edmonton is not ready to compete for the Cup, but it will win a lot of run-and-gun games. Give it a couple of years and they will be absolutely great, unless they mismanage things. And no, the fact that they had 3 first overall picks is not proof that they can't manage their team.

"@TSNBobMcKenzie: Zach Parise is going to market. NJD not necessarily "out" but everyone else is "in." Start your engines."

he can give us 10-12m, he can throw heavy hits taking guys out.
He's a good HW fighter. I'm just looking at value for his position and he gives us pretty good value.

Even if he doesn't sign with us, the Devils losing him is still a bonus.

Whitney is going to free agency. Doan still seems hesitant.
even if we trade for a top scorer I would still want Whitney for depth. the guy is ageless.
