He's still a pretty good skater though is he not? Being slower than Mitchell pretty much cover 95% of the league.

Merc colleague David Pollak already has tweeted this, but SJ media happy about Burish's arrival because he fills the notebook with quotes.

Just talked to newest #sjshark Burish: "I always ask Joe (Pavelski) what's missing in San Jose. Maybe I can bring that spark, that edge."

Mike Heika @MikeHeika
Great news for Adam Burish signing in San Jose. Stars clearly were not interested in a four-year deal.
David Pollak @PollakOnSharks
Burish, Pavelski both spend summers in Madison. Burish says he's taken a few $$$ on the golf course lately, but gets spotted a few strokes.

Sweet signing! I was looking into Burish the other day and thinking he'd be a good fit.

If he's used as a 4th liner, it's fine because he kills penalties pretty well. Problem still is on the 3rd line where we have just Handzus and maybe Galiardi but it'd be better to push Galiardi down until he earns back the 3rd line status. Galiardi-Desjardins-Burish is a pretty reliable 4th line.

I had Mitchell at B+, probably put Burish at C+ to B- with limited viewings. I had Winnik at B.

Welcome Adam Burish to SJ. If he is a pest, plays the PK and works out with Pavs, I like the deal but are we going after more scoring options. I know our PK wasn't good last year but we also need some new plays or different skills to open up our offense.

He's getting as much as Grier did when we brought him in. I feel meh about this. I'm concerned that Doug is being too patient.

We all know how critical I've been of DW, so allow me to give him credit where I think it's due...patience today is probably the most important thing a GM needs to have.

So Pavs thinks the Sharks are soft? Anyone surprised by this?

Don't know what Pavs thinks but we were not a hard hitting team last year. Also, with our PK the way it was, we could not afford penalties.

You could take it that way, or you could take it as that is what Burish thinks the sharks are missing.

When Marleau 4th on the team in hits in the playoffs, you are soft.
It's not really the team's fault though. The team is too slow to actually catch anyone to hit them.

Been preaching this for a while. Main reason im against trading Clowe and my man crush on physical players i feel would fit well (see Schenn, Couturier, Ryan, JVR. Staal... etc)
To play the line games, gotta think this signing was a deal with pavelski so thatd hed play line 3.
Think
xxx-Pavelski-Burish
Galliardi-Desjardins-Wingels
or some combination.

David Pollak @PollakOnSharks
More from new #sjshark Burish: "I texted Pavs and I said 'Ready to go win a Stanley Cup?' And he said, 'Let’s do it, man.' So I’m excited
Love that attitude!
