What's the point in having both Asham & Rupp in the line-up?

NJD 4th line single handedly cost us the finals .
This is looking to be the slowest most useless goon squad of all time .
Horrible .
This is a bad team

Asham at half the price of Prust doesn't sound too bad. Not jumping for joy, but he fills a void.

their top 9 wore us down, their bottom 3 just put home the goals on an exhausted squad. We were so badly outplayed in that entire series its not even funny. To say that the 4th line "single handedly" won it for them is so beyond naive.

Sure, Asham cost a lot less, because he's much less useful than Prust. Prust played PK, you could use him in critical defensive zone situations. I doubt Asham sniffs PK. I doubt Asham sniffs important minutes. This just made our 4th line even less useful than last year. Talk about tiring out your top 9...

Seriously, stop talking nonsense. We're such a bad team we won the division, conference and nearly made it to the SCF.

I really like this signing. Great price for a player who does what he is supposed to well.

Maybe Anisimov can finally bring his "amazing defense" to the PK.

hopefully our 4th line will be rupp-boyle-asham...meaning we added enough to the top 9 to push boyle down

Well at least if they resign Prust this would be an awesome upgrade to Jonny Malkin

****ing idiotic move.

I'd prefer if they overpaid the **** out of Prust rather than give Asham a job.

This fanbase is a f***ing joke. You act like you're paying the bills, we saved 800k!!!!! oh boy!!! That could be the difference between us signing ummmm oh that's right, NOBODY!!! The psychological scarring must run deep. I'm suprised nobody brought up any issues because this wasn't a ********ing "KID" we drafted. To brag about saving 800k on signing Asham over Prust makes me want to vomit, f***ing disgraceful.

Just when we thought our fourth line couldn't get less mobile...it does.

Awful.

God save this team if that line is in the defensive zone.

Getting the puck up through the neutral zone will be like humping the Oregon trail.

****ing terrible.

Ashams G/82 Games: 10
Prusts: 7

Ashams P/82 Games: 22
Prusts: 19

Ashams PIM/82 Games: 102
Prusts: 180

Ashams Salary: 1mil/yr
Prusts: Looking at now, about 3mil/yr

Asham at his salary is a HUGE upgrade next year over Prust at his salary.

Prusts PKing ability is vastly overrated, as is every single pker weve ever had.

OMGZZZ!! we lost Ortmeyer, Betts, Sjostrom, Moore, Jason Ward, and the list goes on and on, how will our PK ever survive?! and yet, it's always in the top 5. Our PK will only suffer when Henrik Lundqvist is gone...till then, our PK will be JUST FINE.

It's funny how wrong this post is.

Prust is asking for 2.2M. If he ends up getting, say, 2M, we will have saved 1M. We still have Drury on the books. You have no idea what you are talking about, because that money saved will be very big for us.

But no. Let's just massively overpay a 4th liner like Prust. Money don't mean ****.

its not 800k, its probably on the order of 2 mil a year...thats 4 mil over 2 years...thats the difference between adding a 2nd line player, and adding a first line player.

Everyone saying they hate Asham, and justifiably so, but a year from now, he's going to be loved. I'm happy with this signing. Good guy for our 4th line. Brings what you need from a 4th liner. Can pot 10 goals. Physical. 1M cap hit. Everything looks good to me.

Boyle, Callahan, Stepan, Anisimov, and Feds, I'm sure our PKing will be just fine. Hagelin can also be used in that role. Prust was a good shot blocker. Not exactly like he was a pro at clearing the zone or skating the puck up the ice.

Talk about overreacting.

maybe not super mobile, but they are big, tough, mean, and nasty. The Kings werent the most mobile team in the league last year, what they were was huge, and always willing to throw a big hit. Mobility matters (to me) way more on the top lines (see, Gabby, Kreider, Hagelin, Callahan, etc for speed)
