Apparently we are intersted in Danny heatly. I really think he could thrive here. Would be interesting to know what Minnesota wants. Maybe get big joe and Danny back for a family reunion.

Apparently?
Big Joe? Family reunion? Do you mean Jumbo Joe? As in Thornton? Because they played in San Jose?

Out of curiosity, how did Eklund ever become a thing ever worth mentioning and why is it still that way? Was he actually good at breaking **** once? Is HF Boards solely responsible for this monstrosity?

Shorter version: he made a name for himself during the lockout because he was the only rumormonger reporting on it, even though it was erroneous. He likely has NHL sources now, but either they feed him information way earlier in the negotiations that he lets on (i.e. a GM calling to make a preliminary inquiry about a player could garner an E4) or agents and GMs regularly feed him misinformation to test the waters. He's never been legitimate, and while HF isn't the only reason he is what he is, it's a big one.

his philosophy is, if you throw enough **** against the wall something will stick. Apparently his dog knows more about hockey then he does. And I would guess he has more than enough usernames. He gets his income from the website 'hits'. So I try to avoid it.

Bull's eye. He learned quickly that, if you try to be accurate, you'll never have enough information to garner the hits you need to be profitable. Far more lucrative to aim for quantity over quality.
Not all rumors are created equally. If you post about a rumor, you need to make the source of that rumor clear, so that folks can judge its validity (not to mention confirm that it has a source at all).
I wouldn't like him. I became fond of the Thrashers when I lived in Atlanta and we have had enough trouble with people who have demanded trades.
Regarding Atlanta, I think it was pretty cowardly for him to run away from a problem that was pretty much his fault especially since he owed a lot to the organization and community that was very supportive of him (and didn't give him any jail time).
As for Ottawa, I guess the coaching position there was a revolving door at the time, but it's not like this organization doesn't have its own problems.

The guy's baggage is pretty heavy given he was responsible for the death of a teammate, but his salary over the next 2 years ($11m over 2) makes it an option. He doesn't have the best rep in the lockeroom and his skills have showed some decline over the last 2 yrs, so I'd probably pass.

It's pretty sad that his "decline" would put him in the top 3 for our sqd. I saw his stats were in the 50's this year and 60'd the year before. He was in the 100's a few times before that. Put him with Vermy and doaner and see what happens. If its just 2 yrs left, I'd say take a gamble and it would help us with the cap floor.
I'm sure minny would be fine given their recent top dollar acquisitions.
