Unless you mean in the D zone. I do recall him cheating quite a bit. Whitney was pretty prone to that as well, and DT didn't seem to mind. I guess because Hanzal and Vrbata never do.
I did mean on "D", I seriously think that Maloney would pull a trade before signing Jokinen.

Well, he didn't make it an entire season the last stint. If DT and the locker room will have him back, then I'm all for it. The only question in my mind is the "cancer" rumours that popped up or the "bad fit" being him in DT's system.
The guy was on pace for 29-29 on a Tippett coached team. I'd be more than okay with bringing him back if Tipp is. If Tippett wants him, we'd be foolish not to try, and Maloney isn't foolish.

Yeah well below 50% throughout his career on faceoffs and a -111 for his career, I just don't see where he fits with our system.

Jokinen played for Gretzky.

Oh, you're right! haha I thought it was the first Tippett year, but it was the last Gretzky year -- I'm blaming my old age!

He not a good defensive forward but you need only look at his career wins versus losses to get some explanation on the -111. Folrida Panthers, Gretzky Coyotes, and Calgary Flames will do that to a guy, haha.

I'd have tried to match that. Purely from a desperation standpoint however.

Oh well. Sullivan, Jokinen and Doan would suit me just fine.

Hopefully something changes and Doan + another weapon joins the team but right now I feel like:

Without an owner there is no way we are going beyond a 2 year deal with anyone not named Shane Doan. We are owned by the NHL during a period where they are negotiating a new CBA. No way does this organization start duplicating the stupidity of the other teams with length of term and excessive dollars. It's just not going to happen with the NHL as our owner.

Fine. Keep Doan, give Sullivan one year (for way too much) and trade for Lombardi.

Didn't we give Yandle and Hanzal 5 years?

Also, why sign with the Flames? There must have been other teams with similar deals...

Another off-season all that not worth while. I'm wondering how things would be like with JR entering his 4th season as owner if there wasn't so much incomptetence going around that the sale to him couldn't be made. We will never know.

Good signing, as long as it's for Portland.

Nice. I really like Chris Conner. Dang the Portland Pirates are gong to have some really skilled really tiny forwards with him, Miele and Shinniman.

You're completely right. If it's a two-way deal, it'd be great. Conner wouldn't look out of place on the Coyotes if he was a 4th liner, either, though.

Dallas gets Derek Roy. Big changes for the Stars and another Pacific team looking stronger than the Coyotes, at least on paper.

I like that if only it get's Ott out of the West. Roy basically just takes Ribeiro's spot.

Man. That trade looks good for Dallas. Then again Ribeiro for a pick and prospect doesn't help them much next year. Pardy is a non issue. Ribeiro and Ott out and Roy and Whitney in. Hmmm...

It kills me that Semin is UFA and we have no shot at acquiring him. He'd be the perfect player for this team. He has no use for linemates, and creates every bit of his own offense. Fantastic at getting back on D. Awesome back checking finesse forward. Guy is awesome at picking pockets. His transition back to offense once he steals the puck is truly elite. As is his ability on the break away. So good on the PK and so dangerous on the PK.
