Yes and getting a proven 1st line player is only part of what we will accept in a something for something trade as we need a 1st round pick as well to help keep us stocked in the prospect pool in the future.

Phoenix gets:
Perron-top 6 left winger
D'agostini- probably a depth forward for blues, but maybe a top 9 forward.
Cole- defensive prospect
3rd round pick

St. Louis gets:
Yandle
2nd

Just asking, would love to see the blues acquire this guy.
START with Oshie AND Schwartz then MIGHT stop and think about it for a moment.

You have less than half of the value. Us adding a pick makes it laughable. Remove the PHX 2nd and add a STL 1st to the STL 3rd and it's still an easy no.

Andrei Kostitsyn and Alex Radulov were eating a late dinner and there was no alcohol involved. It was verified and written about.

Depending on the + , this makes me think about it. But wouldn't trading Yandle's contract make it harder to get to the floor?

I noticed Steve Sullivan had 6pts in his last six post season games played. That got me curious so I checked out the end of his regular season, too. In the final 22 games he played in he had twenty two points. So, including playoffs...

Steve Sullivan had 28pts in his last 28gp

Sign him. Just sign him.

Maloney said he didn't want to give Whitney a 2nd yr because he was worried about the budget when guys like Boedker and OEL need extensions. That's fine. The league didn't like Whitney getting a big extension because he's already 40. Whelp, Sullivan is only 38. I bet no team is offering a two year deal. I bet no team is offering anything approaching three million. I suggest...

4.95 million dollars over two years.

Year one is 3.29million and year two is 1.66million.

If he's waiting for Parise as you suggested earlier then we are probably going to have to hurry up and wait some more

He's also reasonably effective on the PP, not sure how he'll work out in our train wreck of a unit but it couldn't hurt

Yes, I read that, but he knows people think they were out drinking and partying.

Yes and no.

A Yandle trade would likely bring back a player under the age of 26 whom we would sign to a long-term deal. Maybe even front load that deal. It would likely be a 5+ year deal.

The hang-ups? Finding the right deal, then making sure that the players within that deal would sign an extension, and not a lot of young players would want to come here over the ownership concerns.

My hopes:

UFA:
Shane Doan - 5yrs, 22.75m, 4.55m x 5yr, full NMC (same exact contract as last time)
Steve Sullivan - 2yrs, 4.95m, (3.29m + 1.66m) full NMC (overpay in year one, limit risk in year two)
Gilbert Brule - 1yr, 1.5m (one way)

RFA:
Chris Summers- 1yr, 1m (one way)
Kyle Chipchura - 1yr, .75m (one way)

Trade David Schlemko to Toronto for Matthew Lombardi

Sullivan-Hanzal-Vrbata
Doan-Vermette-Boedker
Korpikoski-Lombardi-Brule
Torres/Chipchura-Gordon-Moss
Chipchura, Bissonnette

OEL-Michalek
Yandle-Morris
Klesa-Rundblad
Summers

Smith
LaBarbera

I think this is a perfectly reasonable and relatively satisfying way for the rest of free agency to go. Hope your Fedoruk/Hale powers are still working.

After Maloney finishes carrying out rt's instructions, I know I would breathe a little easier. He can follow it up by waiting until the cba gets done. This silly inflated cap will go down and some teams will likely have to get cap compliant. By then we should have an owner and some money to spend to help some teams shed some contracts for pennies on the dollar.

This has been one of the more dull off-seasons I can remember.

Do you remember any of them lasting more than 48 hours?

I might like to add Bissonnette to Schlemko and Mike Brown to Matthew Lombardi.

I think that keeping both Chipchura and Brown provides us with enough middleweight punch to make Bissonnette expendible. Both can actually contribute in other ways, too.

Chipchura can fill in for Torres during his inevitable suspensions and Brown can fill in for Moss during his inevitable injuries.

If there is going to be bad blood in a game and we need more weight( LA Kings) we can scratch Brule, move Moss up to the third line, and insert Brown into the fourth line.

If the cap goes down, there may be roll back of players' salaries. This would explain the over inflated contracts that we see this off-season!

I can't believe that the Leafs signed another center, Their top priority would be getting a goalie. 1 scenario is Luongo to Florida which frees up a goalie, Theodore (?). Another is Thomas (if the Leafs can convince him to play this season). It is still relatively early in the off-season to try to force a trade.

I don't want to trade Yandle, but I highly doubt the defenders lower on our depth chart will bring impact forwards and we just lost our leading scorer and have done nothing to fix the PP.

Oshie made $2.35M and is RFA. Maybe he gets $3M? Schwartz has only played 7 games and is on a $1.16M ELC. If the plus is a 1st, that's an impressive young package and if Gormley is ready, that may be an upgrade. When GMDM said it would need to be a deal that Yandle's agents would understand, I think this would be one.

But again, I'd rather find another way.

Coyotes sign another one-year, two-way deal, this time with LW Rob Klinkhammer.

Great name!

Klinkhammer should be a good pick up for Portland.

Portland needed a little size with Conner joining Miele and Shinniman. I guess Brown and Arnold are pretty big, too. Nice mix down there.

Why is it that every year I see "This should be great for San Antonio/Portland!", but the team always sucks?

I agree, it has to be Edwards. Every time I hear Ray in an interview he just seems so unimpressive and I can't fathom why the Coyotes organization continues to keep him on board.
