Things have seemingly quieted down. Rangers are usually active around "dinner time" (6-8PM EDT) when it comes to signing. Now seems like a good time to eat or do whatever other chores around the house.

I read somewhere recently (can't remember where) if the NHL takes over NJ like they did Phoenix, step 1 is trade Kovalchuck. They wouldn't want to pay him.

Yeah. He may not win a stanley cup, but he will be swimming in a pool of 100 dollar bills for the rest of his life. Its a fine consolation prize.

I cant see Jagr going to MTL. Those fans scrutinize players so quickly.

Jagr has talked about wanting to play in MTL before from what I remember. Even though they boo the **** out of his every time he steps on the ice for some reason. (Maybe 68 is too close to being 88.)

Actually, in an average year (ie- his points divided by his games played times 82--including his down season last year and his six game pointless cup of coffee in 06/07) he's a 45 point player. People think he's going to bounce back to his production of the last two years, where he was averaging .64 and .70 PPG respectively--good for an average production of 55 points over an 82 game season.

This has to be at least the 10th or 11th time that you've inserted Dubinsky and your dislike of him/his contract into a discussion that had NOTHING to do with him. Your negative obsession with this player is getting somewhat disturbing. Seek therapy.

You're right..,he'd rather play in a less competitive league and bail on a guaranteed contract that pays him like a king.

That assumes that they have ever gotten anyone really good from us. I wouldnt consider Rozy, Korpedo and Prucha a hall of fame crew...

in his defense he signed when njd had that...now ironically his contract has crippled the whole njd organization that they can afford a goalie or secondary scoring and are broke and looking like the atlanta thrashers

I give him 2-3 seasons and if the Devils are down in the dumps, he asks to get traded or he leaves.

Make no mistake. Sather wants Nash and has for months. If Howson is realistic, a deal will be made.

Somewhat related - my ignore list has plumped up nicely. Threads like this really help weed out the drivel.

Looking at some signings, I believe that teams are already getting desperate.

It has alot to do with him. Every time someone overpays a free agent today, people are using it to defend the fact that we ****ed up big time when we gave Dubinsky too much money.
