Hitting, fighting and toughness doesn't mean you're better hockey player. Nice intangibles, but I think those are overrated stats.

For all the trash Mitchell gets on here (by myself included), he actually played pretty well in the post season.

That said, for $1.5M cheaper I completely understand and agree with the move. As long as we use that $1.5M intelligently of course.
That makes sense, too. Either way, I still think we need to improve the bottom 6 in some way.

Dude was horrible and Torts obsession with him was even worse and scary. So glad he's out of here.
If he is so terrible, why did the SC winning, Jack Adams Nominee coach of the NYR kept putting him out there? He obviously knows a lot more than us.

Asham's a better specialist because he brings a compete level and a ferociousnes that you don't see from a lot of guys. Mitchell is probably the better hockey player, yeah. If they were both in the AHL I'm sure that Mitchell would be more valuable to a team, but the caliber of play is so high and these guys aren't getting a ton of minutes.

Baseball teams take defensive replacements over average players all the time. It's a reasonable thing to do.

McKenzie saying the Flyers are most aggressive in going after Parise and Suter. Offering each contracts over 100 million. 200 million for two players is crazy. How can they afford it?

It's irrational hatred. Same people probably wanted MDZ traded for scraps last year.

I mean, he didn't do anything spectacular but, he did do the most important thing a 4th liner can do. He played mistake free hockey through the entire post season which impressed me greatly.

That's all I ever wanted from him.

Philly currently has 10 mill in cap space. That doesn't account for the cap going down. They'd have to clear out Briere and possibly Mezaros.

They're insane lol.

Hemsky is a classic all tools, no toolbox type of player.

And you guys don't like Semin? Holy smokes, you'd all hate Hemsky then

Not irrational, you mean warranted hate.

MDZ was still 20 years old last season and someone that had a good rookie season (I did not want him traded). Big difference between the two of them.

No, the Rangers were mediocre because they always overpaid free agents to build their team....

If he is so good, why didnt the SC Winning, jack Adams Nominee coach request Sather to keep him?

Also, if he is sol talented, why couldnt here score a single goal with 60 total power play minutes?

As per @Real_ESPNLeBrun, Bryan Allen gets three years at $3.5M per year from ANA.
