Chip Alexander @ice_chip
Rutherford says Parise's agent says Canes likely will not be on short list.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Zach Parise's decision will not come until tomorrow. Has narrowed the field to a select group and will decide Monday.

MDZ was still 20 years old last season and someone that had a good rookie season (I did not want him traded). Big difference between the two of them.
Mitchell is a scapegoat. Unwarranted hate. What did he do wrong, I am actually very curious.

Mitchell didn't do much wrong at all. Neither did Prospal. Sometimes management just moves on from players.

He got 60 minutes of power play time this season, and couldn't manage a single goal.

Dan Rosen @drosennhl
That's not to say both Parise and Suter will decide Monday, but all indications are they won't sign today.

I'm not disagreeing but what makes Mitchell more talented than Asham other than puck possession?

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline
Said all along, though, that likely window for a Nash trade is July 2-5, or the few days after Zach Parise finds a new home.

EK says that San Jose, Detroit, NY Rangers, Toronto are the only remaining teams in the Nash dealings.

He doesn't have the best shot. And I blame the PP on the coaches and the supporting cast on the PP.

And if Detroit gets Parise they will most likely bow out.

Any closer to trading #CBJ captain Rick Nash? GM Scott Howson "No."

Actually I think you're being irrational. I'm not a Mitchell hater by the way. If the Rangers had re-signed him it wouldn't have bothered me at all but since you brought up the playoffs Mitchell was scratched for the final two games. Five other times during the playoffs he got less than 5 minutes of ice time. Only twice did he play more than 10 minutes in a playoff game this year and one of those two times was in the 6 period game 3 against Washington. Torts didn't seem to have as much confidence in him as you think.

It's not a huge loss.

And neither is JAM. He's very small. He should have a much better opportunity with Columbus than he would get from us. If given a choice between JAM and MZA I would have take MZA and we all know that it was a real struggle for him. JAM's going the route of PAP. He might (and that's questionable) put up points but he's not going to be an all around player. The other poster claiming he could have beat out Prust or Rupp--that's a ****ing joke. Hockey is not just offense--the Flyers have been trying that for a long time. Your 4th liners have got to be able to grind. Mitchell was okay at that--he could take the hits. He could make nice plays sometimes but mostly he was a non factor. Prust is a much bigger loss.

Think someone should bring up Avery--you'll get your sense of humor back.

There is the answer. It takes talent to possess puck for long periods of time. The great players like Jagr, Lemieux, etc were great at protecting the puck.

Hemsky has a toolbox.

It's just rusted, cracked, and missing a wheel. One more hit and it'll disintegrate.
