See who's to say that's true? Jordan Staal has never been a featured top-line guy because of 87 and 71

He would be great on the 3rd line, huge upgrade over Boyle. But he will be grossly over payed considering the market right now.

Not a bad fallback option. Comes from a great Detroit system so will be well schooled. I can see him clicking with Richards. Hudler plays LW too. Both guys love the puck possession game ( Hudler in Det played puck possesion hckey) and Richy needs that type of player next to him.

It's not a bad idea to explore but there are others I'd have in front of him for sure.

More a top 6 guy. Depends on how much he costs. $4 mil per would be about the limit. Would like it to be a little less.

3.5-4 mil wouldn't be that bad, but I can see someone giving him 4.5-5 mil.

They would have Parise + Sutter + Domoulin instead of Staal. That's the reason why people fear him going there.

Not positive, but I think he can play wing and center.

I think Feds will re-sign and we can use him. Lost one penalty killer today. That's enough.

I'm expecting this tweet shortly:

The only thing holding up the Nash to NY trade is that Sather wants JAM in the deal.

No real need for him unless all the Rangers options fall through (Trade and UFA signings). Rangers roster looks like:

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Kreider - Stepan - XXXX/Callahan
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan/XXXX
Rupp - Boyle - Asham
Haley

He has flipped between wing and center during his career. Last season he played mostly left wing.

I would really like Hagelin on the 3rd line that means we have a lot of talent up front

Hudler? Really? Ugh. Soft, unengaging forward. Really hope we can just pressure Howson into giving us Nash.

I agree that he wouldn't compliment our top 6, he is too small to be a physical presence on our top line. But as a third line center he would be very good. Probably makes Anisimov expendable.

Still some names out there, might need another bottom six guy to replace Feds. Need a D-man but don't see many as viable on the free agent market.

Even with Nash, the rangers for the next 3 years will technically only add 3.6m to our cap and maybe less depending on who goes back with dubinsky. So we could add another short term deal like Hudler Jagr Doan etc
