Foligno and Kuba for Methot... Makes the team much much worse. Murray is horrible. Retire already.

Tbh, should've got a Dman that was top-4, even if that included a pick...

I mean, even Wiz would've been a good bet, even if it meant seeing something like this again

Or, you can think of spending the extra million and keeping Kuba and not trading Foligno.

Kuba + Foligno + a million dollars for Kuba (say that with your Dr. Evil voice)

OR

Methot

Agreed. Something like this had to be done. I would rather the odd man out be Foligno than Silfverberg, Stone, or Zibanejad. We can't carry 30 players on the team, folks!

I liked the first couple moves we did, but then this...

Calm down everyone... I was just surprised by the trade and honestly I think it's fair...
I mean, sure we have NO young players that have more potential than Foligno coming up through the system, plus we have that problem with too many defensive d-men. I mean, sure this trade makes no sense and Murray should be fired for breaking many mens hearts today...
Seriously, it makes sense. All of those who think we could've gotten a much better return for Foligno or think what he brings is irriplaceable is a massive homer hahaha. That said, I wish Foligno luck, he was a great guy and I'm glad I got a chance to meet him. Welcome to Ottawa Methot.

Decent, slow speed, above average agression, silly penatlies.

but we need to get some defensive help with Carkner and Kuba going.

easily tradeable.
Perhaps you should start attacking his character too and make wild accusations about how he was going to hurt our team at the most inopportune time as well.

Then we'll be able to swallow that he was just given away for a dime a dozen, grossly overpaid, bottom pairing D-man from the worst team in the league.

We just signed Mike Lundin for a $1M... we gave up a 24yo who just put up a 47 point seasons while being among the leagues hit leaders who regularly fought for himself and his teammates to get another grossly overpaid Mike Lundin.

I give it a week before the HF stockholm syndrome kicks in and we're talking about how bad Murray ripped off Howson for getting Karlsson's life time D partner for underachieving Foligno

Sens pro scouting staff needs to be canned. We have made one good trade in the past 10 years, and that was still an over payment (Turris). Surely Chicago would have taken Foligno for Hammer.

Real puzzled.......blows my mind.

Good god, give the guy a chance on the PP. He has a break year, is young, physical, and then you dump him away for for less than equal value.
If Nick was the player you think he is, 29 GMs would have been lined up to talk with Murray. Truth is Nick doesn't have the value many think unfortunately.

I would be fine making this trade if Methot was younger and wasn't so injury prone!!! His last four seasons he has played 46, 74, 60, and 66 games!!

Murray must really think Weircoch and Boro can split about 20-40 games in our top four next year or it was a retarded move

It's already happening. nanuuq, Craven... quite a few others. Apparently because Foligno wasn't a first line talent... we can afford to give him away for nothing and not worry about the consequences.

If Chicago would have taken Nick for Hammer the deal would have been done weeks ago.

I think most people agree with that, but most seem to feel that if he was being traded, we could have gotten better value than just Methot...

Then it's best not to trade him of you can't get good value for him. At worst he doesn't crack the top 6 and plays on the 3rd line and fills in on the top 6 if the young guys are inconsistent. Now the sens have a bottom pairing have not.

Unless there's another deal going on that we haven't seen yet, this is horrible.
