To me, the proper captain of a team is the one who best exemplifies the values of the team. For the Devils, it's strong two way play, an unflagging work ethic, and winning through sheer willpower. That's Parise, not Kovalchuk.
**** it. Larsson w/ the C. Might as well do it now rather than later.
But really, I agree with what you said. However, if ZP leaves its down to Kovy, Elias, and Zajac.
Saugus, just because they feel good about the talks means nothing in the end. Zach could turn around and say.....Thanks but no thanks and go elsewhere.
Rossi said as much to Pens fans. It doesn't mean much. I'm sure everyone left feeling good
That plus there's maybe five teams at best that are going to offer him something, fewer still are going to be offering him 50-60 games. He could have gone somewhere else already if he wanted to, unless his decision is going to be based (gulp) on whether Zach leaves, and he wants to go out the door too cause the team won't be competitive. Either way it's not taking him two days to go through whatever other teams have offered.
Doubt Zach leaving has anything to do with it. Just a year, and a half ago there was talk about maybe trading Marty, and Lou said back off cause he's not going anywhere. He also said when they asked if he will waive his no trade clause he said only if he's asked to, and they fell it's better for the team, but he don't wanna bolt cause times are bad and abandon the team like that.

I didn't say I think he's right, I'm just reporting what their beat writers are saying.

Especially Detroit is baffling to me. They can't afford both, I think.
