As long as they stick to their vision of it being a transition year and not shelling out assets at the TDL when we're in 8-10th place.
The best part about this deal...provided there's no NTC.

If the Habs are not in the race (not likely) they can deal him for a mid round pick.

And if they are in the race there's a chance that Diaz impresses enough that Kaberle becomes expendable.

And for those who think Kaberle isn't moveable, look at what Minnesota got for Zidlicky who was playing just as poorly and had a last stretch and an extra season after on close to the same money.

Sure it would have been nice if he was 5 inches taller, but the market is what it is. I didn't think our defence was as ''awful'' last year as it was inexperienced and lacking depth. This helps in both those areas.

Only thing that sucks is that it looks like Weber could be on the way out, unless Kaberle is dealt this offseason which seems unlikely.

I know a lot of people have fallen out of "love'' with Weber but I still think he's got a future in the NHL.

what are your trying to say here?

he was plus 7 in 10 playoff games this yr.

Picard and Campoli sucks ......don't try to mention Boullion in a negative light ,he's a great team player who puts it all on the ice ,heart and soul warrior.

Emelin was a big minus(18?) this yr, any problem with that? I didn't think so .

lol

HITS EQUAL THE OTHER TEAMS PLAYER ON HIS BUTT, that is what Boullion does just like Emelin .These two don't give love taps .

He was only saying that hits aren't a definitive indicator of a players defensive prowess.

For the record +/- is a useless stat when used on it's own. Even in combination with data such as opponent quality it is still highly questionable at best.

I don't personally care about plus minus, what i say is Boullion is something Habs can use on back end .

When Emelin is on Bench , Boullion is hammering, when Boullion is on bench , Emelin is hammering ....

There is not ONE DMAN on last years squad , that would have the guts in there pinky finger, to stand up to COLTON ORR......true or false? and not just mouth off ,but stand up and drop them and fight him .

BOULLION deserves more respect than that.

Your entire post boiled down into you arguing that a hitting defenseman equaled a good defenseman. Luke Schenn disagrees with you, and so do Mike Komisarek or Garnett Exelby.

Picard and Campoli do suck. You're not really going out on a limb here.

It doesn't matter how much heart you have if the skill or general capabilities aren't there to match. Bouillon is old and injury prone. Emelin's defense is that he was an NHL rookie and still have room to improve. Bouillon can't make the same claim.

I'm not even completely against the Bouillon signing, but to claim that there is no argument against him is absurd, and the logic you've employed to make your point is even worse.

I don't know what happened in Toronto this last year, but I think Schenn has been well on his way to being one of those great number 2/3 guys who doesn't put up many points but plays every way great.

Lets give him a chance on a solid team. Not his fault Leafs fans spent 4 years talking about how he was the next Scott Stevens.

I like Schenn and I think he'll be valuable one day, but the point was his hits did not translate into effectiveness.

I personally like the Bouillon signing. It isn't the sexy signing but it was still a solid one IMO. He is essentially taking Campoli's spot in the lineup and I will take that exchange every day of the week.

Oh yeah I know what ya mean. Just thought it was a little rude seeing him grouped with Komi

Funny to think about the old days when Markov was almost always healthy and Komisarek looked like the next Scott Stevens. I was so sad when Toronto signed him.

The Bouillon signing doesn't look so bad if he's there to replace either Campoli or Weber.

Bouillon is not a very good defensman, courage aside...hopefully he's not anything more than a 7th or 8th dman on the depth chart.

I really don't mind this move. He'll be a bottom pairing defensman who has experience and uses all 200 lbs of his body on every shift. Can't be worse than Weber or Diaz at this point so what's the problem? It's a 1 year contract until Tinordi and or Beulieu can transition up into the NHL.

Good signing. Not great but good.

Remind me again how we used to call Bouillon and Dandenault duo. Dandouillon ??
Few years ago, Bouillon was a marginal player. And now, it's obvious that he can't get any better. Whereas, Weber, Diaz or St.Denis can still improve.

Guys...say what you want, but Frankie B was a regular on Nashville for the past few years. He is an NHL vet and exactly the kind of player we were missing last year while we were sucking and losing all those games at the beginning of the season....

We'll either get a Bouilliaz or a Boubber duo.

Kaber is out, please. A true monster would be Kabillion. That would be ... horrible.

Oh but yes he can be! In fact why didn't we give a shot to St. Denis instead?

Can anyone confirm the Bouillon Contract?

Yesterday, everyone reported "1 year, 1.5M"
Last night, while watching Sportscentre, they said "1 Year, 1.25M"
Today, the Gazette is reporting "1 year, 1 M" as well as team 990.

Pound for pound one of the toughest guys in the league.

I don't mind the signing as a 6-7 D-men.

I guess it means the end of Weber or maybe Diaz.

I have important question, does anyone know if Boullion can play Right D, in MTL I remember him only playing LD with Dandy, but I think he might of played RD when paired with Hamhuis a few years back, does anyone know.
