the Cube will fetch us a 3rd or 4th at the trade deadline next year. Supposedly, it is a very deep draft so all the extra picks are nice. Armstrong (if healthy) will fetch us a second.

Seriously I want Dagenais back. He's killing it in the FHL.

But he's a lot better defensively than Diaz and especially Emelin. And grittier too.

I wouldn't say it's by much, and factor in that Bouillon is again one year older than he was last year, and the other 2 will be one year better.... Not too convinced.

Emelin is a solid 4th D, as is Kaberle. Kaberle's not good, but at 40 points a year, he's not a terrible liability.

Bouillon will be at his place as a #6/7 D.

It's pretty solid.
How is emelin a top 4 d? He was terrible defensively. He can lay people out no doubt, but thats all he was good for last season. as of now he is not a top 4 d. He has the potential to become one, but its risky placing him in the top 4 on his off wing. This club needs a proven top 4 guy so if markov gets injured again, this team wont crumble

Always been a big fan of the Cube so i'm happy with this.

If we have injuries/underachivers on D this year i would not be shocked to see him log big minutes and do better than some 4M turds.

People here should relax... as it is only ONE SEASON for cube.

Have some faith in management.
More like in 3 years probably before they can compete for a full time bottom pairing spot. It just takes awhile unless you have a real gem, ala PK.

I don't mind cube. He plays hard for his size, not a stupid D-man. Bottom pair of course!

#51, welcome back!

I think this 1 year deal is perfect. He is a warrior and a solid bottom pairing d-man. He played 17:32 minutes a night in Nashville. He is helping the transition while Beaulieu , Tinordi and Ellis will be in the AHL next year.

Tinordi can make a splash this year if the stars align. He'll be over-ripe if we force him to wait 2 years.

The Boullion-Cube jokes for out of town Montreal fans... The name aside , he's a Fire-Hydrant! Great low pair D-Man, he does play with heart & that's beyond language. Always Welcome! One of those guys that makes the City a better place to live.

Love the Cube!
In fact, I'm down on all 3 signings today. Honestly, I preferred Allen over Cube, but who can gripe over a one year contract? Tinordi and Beau should be ready by then.

Every year they say it's a deep a draft then it ends up the other.

I remember when everyone was talking about how the 2012 draft was going to be one of the most deep drafts in history.

I still dont love this signing as I thought our depth guy would be a bigger, meaner player.. but he's pretty dependable and Therrien loves him so it makes sense I guess

a nice way of looking at things. these are the types of players other teams look at when they try to bolster their rosters for the playoffs. that's why we should keep kaberle as well until the deadline, we can probably get something really nice for a team trying to improve their pp.

Another Therrien-linked aquisition. I don't mind it as a depth element but we now need a Top D to help PK and Markov to take up a lot of minutes like Hammer used to do.

Like Prust and Armstrong, but Bouillon is terrible at this point.

Our D looks bad.

considering timmins can find studs in every round in any draft, every draft is deep to us.

for other teams with crappy scouts, they might have a gripe against these comments.

Give timmins picks and he'll do magic. We've repressed trevor for too long, we finally gave him a plethora of picks in a draft and its a consensus slam dunk that we won the draft.
