Haley could be the new Prust. I dont really understand signing both Asham and Haley. I guess Haley will start the season in Hartford.

Does new CBA allow punching the puck in the net ?

They either going with all the same cast and some of the prospects , a big trade coming or totally delusional .

The Islanders bring in Carkner. Devils re-sign Janssen. Rangers lose Prust. Think about it. Rangers are letting their division rivals know they're not going to get pushed around. Bickel's back. Asham and Haley are in. We're not out a lot of cap space. Asham's been an NHL'er for a long time. Played with a lot of teams. Lot of playoff experience. He gets his ice time. He doesn't get scratched when the playoffs come around. He's fought a lot of heavy's--Orr, Erskine, Rupp, Janssen etc.

Don't really mind this signing. Haley's nuts, but I'm curious as to why he couldn't crack the Islanders lineup

Haley is probably signed to help to ease in McI in HFD. Clarke said they would sign guys like this for HFD.

He can replace Newbury as a tough guy in Hartford who can be called up in case of an injury.

2 way just means he is getting an AHL salary if he is in the AHL right? Like 105 grand or something like that.

As a fighter Haley is more of a middleweight but he's embarrassed a lot of bigger guys with reputations. He's almost unbeatable with players his own size. He's also more of a **** disturber than Prust. Haley agitates more. His AHL numbers are not bad.
Well said.

As a Sound Tiger fan, I got to see Haley a lot since 07. He plays whatever role he's asked to play. He's not a goon by any means, he just sticks up for his teammates.

He's played a lot of roles in Bridgeport. When he first came up from the ECHL in 07, he was just a fighter trying to stay and get a contract. He's a character guy and he's evolved.

The past two seasons he's played on both the PP and PK logging more minutes on the PK. He lead the Sound Tigers in goals and points for a while in 10-11 and was a major part of that team. He sometimes played on their top line. He earned his call up and was told that his role was to agitate and fight.

In the summer of 11-12 he got shafted by the Isles brass. They went with Reasoner and Pandolfo (vet leadership). I wouldn't be surprised if that impacted his play this past season.

He's a 4th liner who can actually play a shift. He certainly could put up 10-15 pts.
