In other news, our 4th line is now better at hockey.
Well we can agree to disagree then

What's wrong with the AVG line? They can keep viruses and trojans away from MAF.

If the Rangers love the Pens 4th line junk so much, Shero should just trade Adams to the Rags and be done with it already.

Also, MacIntyre should stay in the AHL, never ever be called up. IF the Pens need a fighter, Glass and Engelland can get the job done.

The lack of any other FA action on the Parise and Suter front is making me have an irrational love for Tanner Glass.

Asham replacement I am guessing. I sure would like to know what Suter and Parise are doing know. Been a slow FA because they havent signed.

nice that we addressed some hitting on the bottom 6. philly and the rags both passed us up in that dept last year IMO.

that said, its not a bad thing if your fighters can win most of their fights. someone might think a bit differently about running someone if you have a guy like engeland on the ice instead of matt bradley

Glass is the perfect fourth liner. He can fight well enough to hold his own, but he's no enforcer. He hits hard and smart, doesn't take himself out of position just to make a hit. Defensively responsible, doesn't really seem to ever do anything offensively but has a knack for doing something just when it's important, and strong on the forecheck without getting caught very often. Smart guy, Ivy League, tons of character, great locker-room presence. You won't see him taunting a guy after a KO or throwing cheapshots, but you might see him organize a charity Scrabble tournament.

Disappointed to see the Pens hold on to Macintyre, I've been wanting him on my team ever since he one-punched Ivanans right out of the league.

Google images taught me he fights bears. Is there any story behind that?

He's more of a man than Booth ever wishes he can be. IF that's the case about the bear fighting.

Solid signing, I'm sold on him, that's for sure. Seems like a winner on and off the ice.

Who do the Canucks have up and coming in their "****-disturber" pipeline? Ruutu, Cooke, and now Glass. The next will inevitably sign with us.

Where is that coming from? That is way off the mark.

Glass plays a more honest game than Ruutu and Cooke ever did. He's a big, physical guy who plays with an edge and backs it up by dropping the gloves. He can also play the game better than any MacIntyre or Godard ever could. The only mark against him (based on my watching him) is that sometimes he needs to hunker down and play a disciplined game when his team has established a good lead. Glass (like Torres) had a knack for giving other teams a reason to keep playing.

With all of that said, I think he was a good pick up and adds a physical element that our bottom 6 was sorely missing last year.

Well, I hate Burrows, but he'd be a nice fit on Sid's line

Way to down the last true enforcer in the NHL. It was sad to see Godzy go.

That's where Rupp got his reputation though. He's 6'5 240 lbs. He'd get pummeled by guys his size, but would obviously fair well against guys much smaller.

Mike Rupp wasn't a good fighter in the least, but what he brought to the table was a really good 4th line energy presence. I miss him much more than I thought I would.

I think you are underselling Rupp a bit. His fight card includes wins against Colton Orr, Riley Cote, Shawn Thornton, Eric Boulton, Andre Roy, Chris Neil, and Cam Janssen.. Not too shabby. He loses some fights but he rarely gets pummeled. I don't recall him ever getting "pummeled" in a Penguins uniform. I do remember Gary Roberts (Pens) pounding him right over the boards when he was with NJD.

He isn't on the level of Clarkson, Clowe or Lucic but what he brings as a player and fighter is pretty solid.
