Meh. At least it's 1 year.

The bad news is, pretty sure this means Parros and Tootoo won't be coming here, would have liked either of them.

Like it. Darcy knows his role, and is a good team guy. Plus, I think he's a good enough skater that he can play a half-dozen shifts a game, and be hard on the forecheck.

Good signing. He played like he had to the times he played and he knew his role.

Huge waste of a roster spot.

Great fighter, loves his role, agitates, skates well enough to actually throw hits, can play more than thirty seconds per night. If you're going for an enforcer in today's NHL then Hordichuk is a good option.

Don't know why y'all are worried about Tootoo since he'd be competing with Eager, not Hordichuk.

I don't mind it. He'll be in the PB most of the time and he's OK with that. No interest in Tootoo whatsoever.

I'm not sure we have space for Tootoo.

Hall-Gagner-Eberle
XXXX/MPS/Harti-RNH-Yakupov
Smyth-Horcoff-Hemsky
Petrell-Belanger-Jones
Hordi

We have basically 2 openings on the team. 2nd line LW and 1 D-man spot. Preferably on the right side.

EDIT TO ADD: And Eager is there somewhere.

Great signing.

Perfect 14th forward who can come in against teams that want to goon it up.

What is this? It looks like the line up in the 3rd period when the Oilers are down 3-0 and MacT is behind the bench.

More likely:

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Yakupov-Gagner-Hemsy
Smyth-Horcoff-Jones
Eager-Belanger-Petrell
Hordi

MPS, Harti, Lander and anyone else in the AHL with more prominent roles.

I still think there's room for another bottom 6 RW, bumping Petrell to the press box or through waivers to the AHL. Still hoping it's a guy like Tootoo, a guy who throws quality hits, not quantity of hits like Petrell. Not sure I ever saw Petrell knock someone off his feet last year... I like the guy, just don't love him. I don't think the Oilers will hesitate to use Petrell as the guy they expose to waivers if the need arises, he'll easily pass and if he doesn't... meh.

13/14 forward who will come it to face opponents enforcers or scud knee seeking goons. I am alright with this. Means no BG though.

Hordichuk said phone calls fro Lumley and Craig Muni were instrumental in getting him to sign

If Hemsky is still in the lineup in October, I'm seeing him as the 2nd line LW...

HALL / GAGNER / EBERLE
HEMSKY / RNH / YAKUPOV
SMYTH / HORCOFF / JONES
EAGER / BELANGER / XXXX

HORDICHUK, PETRELL

If the Oilers decide to sign Tootoo, Petrell likely starts the year in OKC (if he clears waivers). Paajarvi, Hartikainen and Lander are all available for first call-up when injuries occur.

We're heavy on forward, but I'd still consider bringing him in if the price is right.

I think we do need a "goon"
and at least Horichuk can play.
good team guy, good soldier.
I like it.

and if the signing keeps tootoo from coming here, I like it even more.

I'm not sure how I feel about this signing. Basically feel it is good for non-hockey skill reasons, not so much for hockey skill reasons.
