I doubt they'll ask Yakupov to play on his off wing his rookie season. That's just silly.

Hemsky as the LW on that line means that not only will that line struggle on the boards, defensively they may be somewhat liable.

Hemsky has also had past success with Smyth-Horcoff, so if any player can get those two to produce at somewhat respectable levels, it'll be Hemsky.

It will be interesting to see the contrast between Renney and Ralph in terms of how they will use both Hordi and Eager.

Good signing IMO, guy knows his role, hopefully Krueger allows him to do his job more than Renney did.

Agreed. He's a good character guy that, when let off his leash, can be a very effective 4th liner

I like this signing allot. Hordichuch knows his role, likes his role, and The Kreugs will play him in appropriate situations.....I hope.

A little OT here, but I'm wondering how Hordy, Eager, and Belanger will perform and how they will be used by Kreuger.

This will be a telling year.

Meh, at worst we can toss him into the AHL or something, good 13/14 forward. Still want Tootoo though.

Good point. Unless he wants to sign a 2-way, maybe.

Tencer is suggesting that Renney had Hordichuk on a tight leash last year and that won't be the case with Kreuger. You guys want someone who will hold opposing players accountable? We had him all along, it was (allegedly) the coach who was preventing him from playing the role he was brought in to play.

Fantastic, fantastic news that Darcy Hordichuk is back in Edmonton. Embraces the role, doesn't ***** and is phenomenal in the room.

Hordichuk isn't a nuclear deterrent, but he's mighty willing and skates well enough to get after better players. And, again, doesn't *****.

Anyone complaining about Hordichuk signing has no concept of how important positive energy is around the team.

Remember when RNH was hurt last year? Hordichuk spent a TON of time with him skating, keeping his spirits up, keeping it light etc.

Hordichuk back, seeks green light: "It's not a bad thing to get suspended every once in a while to show people you're a little bit crazy.

Hordichuk tells me he's had great conversations with Ralph Krueger, expects to be given the green light to mix it up a bit more this season

That's what makes this a good signing. If Krueger is in fact going to let him do his thing, people are going to be in love with him again like they were at the start of last season

I dont think so. I watched 2 of the CZE games and he was on the right side for both of those games.

Kypreos stating Det. close to Suter signing.
not sure, but following in NLs footsteps and expecting to replace him could lead to disappointment.

I wish there wasn't a need to sign this type of player.

There will always be a need to sign spark plugs. As GM, it's your job to make sure they're more spark than plug. I think Hordi fits the bill as the former, especially if what Tencer is saying is true.

You're both out to lunch..Horti is a good signing as a 13/14 player and fill in when needed. Decent price and he's a good character for the team to boot..

Dan Tencer swears in his tweets? That's interesting considering he probably has a fairly significant young audience.

maybe Koach Krueger can use Horty's crazy eyes more effectively than Renney.
