Has Jagr ever played LW in his career?

With the Habs signing Jagr Pacioretty my line-up would be:

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gionta
Cole-Eller-Armstrong
Bourque-Desharnais-Jagr
Moen-White-Prust.

Pacioretty gets top-line minutes and tough-matchups because he's good enough to beat those.

Eller line gets the 2nd-toughest defensive minutes and Cole makes that line an actual offensive threat (I don't think Bourque is good enough to take 2nd-toughs).

The Bourque-Desharnais-Jagr line is Montreal's version of what Philly had 2 seasons ago with Leino-Briere-Hartnell: an offensive line putting up boatloads of points thanks to a lot of offensive zone faceoffs and weaker opposition. You reclaim some of Bourque's potential trade value and put Desharnais and Jagr in the absolute best position to put up points.

If Jagr's coming to Montreal, I'd say he's coming to play with Plekanec.

With our recent signings and Ellers progression I imagine Plekanec will be seeing slightly less defensive assignments anyways. He is way overworked. Give him regular match ups and two good wingers and hell do 65-70 PTs again.

I'm not against Cube but he's 36 turning 37 so I don't know if he can play physical like when he's 25.

Anyhow we will see.

Pacorietty - Desharnais - Cole
Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Gionta
Moen - Eller - Prust
Bourque - White - Armstrong
You don't play your star rookie center on the wings you just don't, this is pure non-sense amateur fan talk.

If Therrien's mission is to tank then this lineup should be proposed to him by email.

Dear pure non-sense amateur fan,
And why don't you play your star rookie center on the wing?

He'll have a chance to learn from Plekanec and Gionta.

I love how after today, the Habs have a lot more truculence than Brian Burke's team.

Yeah playing as a winger, you don't learn a player to be a winger when he is not... Galchenyuk will be doing 80-90pts seasons from the center, you put him on the wings you ruin all of his talent. It's basically saying that Calvillo of the MTL alouettes should of started his career as a receiver.

Boston did it with Seguin in his 18 year-old year-old season. Galchenyuk shouldn't be anywhere near Plekanec's wing though... tough opposition might have him in way over his head.

He also used to play as RW which is not Galchenyuk's case.

Care to explain what's wrong with the framework other than breaking up the Sacred Cow Line that played great as the Habs tumbled to 28th in the league?

Not well, but he defined truculence by getting guys like Komisarek, Jay Rosehill, John Mitchell, Colton Orr and Wayne Primeau.

Pierre McGuire says he loves Montreal deals today, adding grit and sand paper.

Says Prust is best PK man in leauge, and don't fight for himself it's for his team mates.

Likes the Armstong deal, says Armstrong is chompin at bit, to prove TO and it's fans wrong .

Like's Boullion , as he can keep the room in check when Therrien goes off the rails,Boullion knows Therrien very well.

First of all you putting Eller as a 2nd line center playing with Armstrong who's best season ever is when he topped 16 goals and 24 ass 7 years ago and a staggering 3pts and 29 games last season with Erik Cole, scrapping every chance of seeing him another 30g+ season .

Your lineup does include Bourque which is already a bad start and pairing him with desharnais and jagr is like mixing coffee and salt it just doesn't work. Jagr is old and slow, desharnais is young and fast and Bourque is foul and slow or fast, depending on how he feels .

Paciorretty needs to play with Cole, he said it himself that the only reason he has succeded so well last year was because he was modelling his game on Cole's and that he wished to keep doing so
