Having watched JAM with the Whale last season, great signing for the AHL level at least. He does have NHL potential. Was shocked that he was on an AHL only deal last season. I guess his size deterred the Rangers from giving him an ELC. Good for the Jackets. The one issue with JAM is he runs his mouth a lot. Needs to focus on his offense unless he wants to get knocked out by much bigger players.
The greedy part of me wants him to not make the Jackets so he is here in Springfield. He does have a chance to make the team. He is not as good as Atkinson, but still a talented smaller player with some edge.
I think a lot of people just think this is a "hey what's the worst that could happen" signing and not realize how good this kid really is. Anyone who follows major junior knows that this kid played for the Quebec Remparts under Patrick Roy. He was a force in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and was a go to guy in their playoff run two years ago. He won't be someone who gets called up and down from the minors. When he gets called up I believe he will be there to stay. That is if he doesn't make the team right away.

Nice to hear, we could use some out-of-nowhere good luck.

I checked YouTube expecting to find videos of JAM showing his skills but instead found that he likes to fight a lot. I'll respect a yappy player if he's willing to drop the gloves.

Last season in the AHL, he did not drop the gloves as much. There were times he would hide behind the ref and keep chirping which is just wrong IMO.
